  1. Would be a bit ridiculous to have a third choice keeper as no 1. Likewise Gallagher as 7.
  2. Callum Slattery maybe? Haven't seen him mentioned in any of the U18 stuff this summer.
  3. Di Marzio usually spot on and especially where Italian stuff is concerned. Not sure Koeman completely got the question.
  4. Just a bit boring now, its been done to death. If the Mum of a 15 year old thinks there is a better Academy for hsr son to play at then fine. But surely the sales show the opposite, if they want to get to the top then what better place than a club that gives young players a chance then sells them on? I think Ben Smith does still have a bit of an agenda. Plus, hopefully Hooiveld will take the German club up on their offer, I'm sure its Bayern or Dortmund!
  5. Good performance from us against what has to be described as a dire Brighton side, who only had a shot when Davis gifted one to them. Tadic, JWP and Clyne the standouts for me. Tadic is class, just need to get him on the ball as much as possible in dangerous areas. He combined well with Clyne, who JWP kept finding with some superb long range passing. Isgrove was very tenacious and lively, almost a better player off the ball than on it from what Ive seen against Bmth and Brighton. Would probably make a decent sub option. Bertrand looked decent, Targett ok but in the two games Ive been to I havent seen anything to back up this talk of him being anything close to Shaw - he simply isnt. Fonte was good, but Yoshida worries me. Can be very tidy but too often gets done with a simple ball down the side. Pelle needs a goal, didnt have his best night. Will stop there regarding him. Steven Davis good as normal, Kelvin made one contribution and it was awful. We are obviously bringing a keeper in but I have no idea why he needed to get 45mins tonight, would be better to give Gazza game time surely? Or Boruc, who for all his good handling and saves is ****ing terrible with the ball at his feet. Was also the first game in a while not to feature a mistake from Hooiveld, so I was happy about that! The bench role suits him better.
  6. Taider looks handy but we don't need another CM unless we lose one. At the moment it will be hard enough to give Reed any game time plus Cork also. Even more so if MS does somehow stay. Otther positions (CB, up front and out wide) are far, far more crucial.
  7. Some fans tonight couldn't even say Koeman correctly so no hope with more complicated stuff!
  8. Terrible attacking depth. Still need 6 more signings. Should be a good game though. Report to come later.
  9. Does anyone read this ****?
  10. Fiasco as in saga. And in Osvaldo's case everything after he signed too.
  11. Sounds like another Ramirez/Osvaldo fiasco where its on and off a million times whilst he waits for concrete interest from a bigger team.
  12. Again, no suprise considering his contract situation.
  13. Main dead wood is Sharp (whondidnt feature at Bmth), Gazzaniga (who we need til we get a keeper in) and Hoofield (who we need, sadly, until we get 2 CBs in). Can't think of any others?
  14. All the time he hasnt got a good contract offer he will be linked away.
  15. Oh that guy is a registered loon. Would not take the blindest bit of notice.
  16. Would guess they gets lots of stats and video and then from that narrow down to players that are then watched live.
  17. Looks more like being Schelotto than Taider: http://alfredopedulla.com/articoli/49241-esclusiva-schelotto-southampton-vertice-oggi
  18. Interesting debate I think to be had here, and possibly a slight shift change away from the planned, to the more flexible? First a couple of quotes: Ralph Krueger, 28.05.14 (Source: OS) Les Reed, 25.04.14 (Source: Soton Echo) Now, whilst we will never know for certain, a player like Pelle doesn't strike me as a typical Saints signing, mostly due to his age - I wouldn't think he was someone we had as a target in April, and if Koeman hadnt joined I doubt he would have (not saying there is much wrong with that). Tadic - possibly, seems to fit our profile, but again somewhat of a coincidence that Koeman loves him (certainly not a problem). Bertrand - possibly, but we have never really gone in for loans before, and were clearly interested to some degree in Kolo from Nice and Robertson who just joined Hull. Then, if reports are to be believed, we are likely to sign someone on loan from Inter as part of the Osvaldo deal. Is it a coincidence that one of our targets plays for Inter? Or, is it more likely that we have recently checked their squad list and thought we might as well take one of their players if they are offered about (which presumably keeps the loan fee down for Inter and gets a player who they don't want off their wage bill.) This seems a different approach to last summer, where we had three targets and got them all, and in the case of Wanyama and Lovren, got them early, and had obviously been working on them since at least May. Will be interesting to see who we sign from now, and although we will probably never know, it would be interesting to find out how much of the scouting team's work leads to signings, versus how many are opportunistic or decided by the Manager.
  19. Thanks! Might use it again this year.
  20. What am I looking at? He played left back for Argentina and has a lot for Sporting too. We would be buying as a centre back. Not sure there is much in this myself, happy to be proven wrong though.
  21. Surely this one is done now seeing as we signed Bertrand and have the hugely hyped Targett in reserve. Would be stupid to spend a club record fee on someone who isnt a specialist Centre Back.
  22. If they feel Targett is as good as some on here suggest then no point blocking his path long term with a big signing like Rojo (record signing at LB for a team like Saints, really?) We have two LBs who can compete and both look decent enough. No Shaw, but we were never going to equal or better him (again despite what some said).
  23. Fer is going to QPR.
  24. If he has or hasn't isnt overly important. Its pretty damn obvious that he wants out, and that is still by far the most likely scenario. The Tweet was akin to a transfer request and he said earlier in the summer that he would look to leave if the right option was there.
  25. Krueger - what a fool. If you are "guarenteeing" that a player will stay you need to let them know first. Situation makes us look even more stupid than yesterday before any of those interviews. End up with fans hating a good guy who just wants to progress his career having seen others less justified being allowed to go.
