Ultimately Cortese will be accountable for the decision. Until now he has made a majority of good decisions so we will see. He wants us to be the best we can I don't doubt that. If he thinks this will help then thats his motivation, not to **** people off. He wants success, not mediocrity - we dont know precise targets for this season but to his judgement must be below them. Lets see how it goes.

Yes. So would you Im sure. The quality of your wumming has sadly gone so far downhill recently. You used to be quite funny.
-
Agree - easy run on paper. 10 points as an absolute minimum. Back in reality 4 would do (point per game now would keep us up and this is a tough little run).

Davis will know why the fans would chant for Adkins, of course. But he will also know that if we concede a goal and people boo, or chant you don't know what you're doing etc then it reduces our chances of getting points from the game which is ultimately what everyone wants. Singing for Adkins won't both the team but a negative atmosphere will. -
Any news on Lallana? Couldn't see him on the training video but he was believed to be semi close to a comeback. Probably Man Utd more realistic I guess.

Agree. But there will be a minority that will turn it into a negative atmosphere chanting for Cortese Out or booing a substitution or goal for Everton. -
Sure he will be there like normal. If he had gone to the presser it would have been an aggressive atmosphere which isn't fair on MP so not surprised he wasn't there. What he should have done was explained his reasoning better in a statement on the OS.

http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/football-first/130120/brassell-pogba-cavani-coutinho-and-pochettino-189728? Some Coutinho chat here after 6mins or so. The guy not sure he would be a success in England. Pochettino chat just after.

Pretty sure MP teams normally play 4-2-3-1 from all the reports? IMO Lambert is fine in this when Ramirez is central in the 3 just behind because he is energetic enough to run in behind. If the 10 player is more of a Silva type, or AL for example then he isn't so useful as the attack lacks any kind of pace or explosive movement.

It's not that. They are professional. They want to stay in the league and I'm sure NC explained his decision to them. They play for a club not a particular Manager and will have experienced Managers leaving before. They are there to get on with the job. End of the day whether we agree or not NC has changed the manager because he thinks it will make us better. -

All these statements are correct. We should certainly support NA but not at the detriment of the team ie booing if we go a goal down etc -
Could be. There is no real reason suggest that NC has anything bad to say about Lambert. He knows that without Lamberts goals we probably wouldn't be where we are today.
-
First major outlay I meant. Doesn't change the point I was making.

Don't mind what is sung as long as there are no boos if we go a goal down. -
Pochettino will have seen the impact he made the other day, plus will want to get the fans onside. Would be astonished if he doesn't start. Next season is another question but now we have nobody to replace him. Ultimately Cortese and Pochettino want to stay up. Lambert was Nc's first signing, Lambert always credits the Chairman's role in our rise and he is vital to our chance of staying up. Cortese knows that and so will Pochettino.
-
Not sure why its assumed Lambert won't fit the style?
-
We probably aren't in for him anymore.
-
Sounds like his teams play fairly similarly to how we do now really. Our total philosophy isn't going to change.
-
He was the Sporting Director at Espanyol I think and left same time as Pochettino. Wonder if he might join us?

For those who are interested in what he is about here are a few articles, a good mix I think: http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,,13991_7521848,00.html (Clearly speaks a bit of English and can understand it) http://www.footytube.com/news/guardian/espanyol-indebted-to-mauricio-pochettino-as-kids-show-their-worth-L5120 http://www.laliganews.tv/mauricio-pochettino-and-ramon-planes-leave-rcd-espanyol/ http://www.totalbarca.com/2010/news/know-the-opposition-a-profile-of-espanyol-coach-mauricio-pochettino/#more-32559 http://www.espanyolusa.info/2012/09/will-mauricio-pochettino-take-blame.html?m=1 http://www.sport360.com/article/real-madrid-consider-espanyol-coach-mauricio-pochettino-replace-jose-mourinho?theme=mobile_garland http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,,13991_7521971,00.html http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11842/8407404/Matt-Le-Tissier-and-Guillem-Balague-react-to-Southampton-s-decision-to-replace-Nigel-Adkins-with-Mauricio-Pochettino

Players Revolt? / First training session

I'm sure he will get his point across. Some of the derision of the guy on here is laughable before he has even been given a chance. -

His level of English doesn't seem to be that terrible. Someone on his staff might speak it ok too. -
Draw wouldn't be awful. The key for me is the fans. Hopefully the atmosphere can remain positive to the players because they deserve that from recent displays and a win would be huge in terms of the table.

Who we've been linked with for January thread...

Exactly. Plus, aside from another wide player our squad looks ok IMO.
