  1. Good performance last night carrying on a very decent recent run. Players looked confident and we try to pass the ball and play some good footy. What we do miss though IMO is another attacking option. I thought Ramirez had a very good game last night, and Puncheon was tidy if perhaps a bit below his best. Guly also put a great shift in and played well, although if we are honest he very rarely looks like creating or taking a chance. I think we certainly still need an addition who can play in any of the '3' of the 4-2-3-1. This has been highlighted by the injury to AL, and injuries happen - but you need to be able to cover them. If we had been able to replace Ramirez with someone better than Davis we could maybe have pushed on and won the game. Apart from when we have not started Lambert I can't remember the last time somebody came of the bench and turned a game for us. Probably was Mayuka vs Spurs (even though we ultimately lost) - he had a good impact that day. Whilst Ramirez is best in behind Lambert I also think he could be good on the right, cutting in on his powerful left foot. If we had someone else who could play the no 10 role, or wide either side, it would give us so many more attacking options. The likes of Chaplow and De Ridder were not good enough in the Championship to do any of these roles and aren't at this level and JR is a striker really, and a promising one.
  2. We definitely need another wide player - we had nobody on the bench who could make an impact and really only AL was missing in an attacking sense.
  3. Yeah the other day when Solent first interviewed him he understood their questions are just his answer was translated. There is also a video of him with Guileme Balague speaking a little more English - he will get there. Also, the content of what he says seems very intelligent and thoughtful. Personally, I think he has handled what is a difficult situation with dignity.
  4. Not true. And why would the Espanyol midfielder who is already in Barcelona, travel there with the team? Assume the Liverpool target is Coutinho - no way he is coming to Barcelona with us.
  5. Wish Clyne would back himself to beat the fullback occassionally.
  6. If this week has indicated anythibg its that nobody really knows what is going on at St Marys ever.
  7. We need more another player who can play in the advanced midfield roles. Had little impetus from the bench today.
  8. Its a squad game. We had nothing from the bench tonight and saw how desparate we were when Cork was out injured.
  9. Speaks a bit of English
  10. Decent performance. Showed Pochettino our strengths and weaknesses such as lack of depth. Very few options on the bench.
  11. Thanks for the update, makes sense. Good to know the players are behind him. Imagine that means we will be as follows: -------------------Boruc--------------------- Clyne------Yoshida---------Hooiveld-------Shaw -------------Cork------------Morgan------------ Puncheon-----------Ramirez--------------Guly --------------------Lambert------------------- Our best selectable team IMO.
  12. No suprise re Forren. Hasn't played for a month and a half - no way to make a Prem debut. Get a good week of training done and play then.
  13. Apparantly they speak better than Pochettino does. Also Fran Alonso speaks both well.
  14. New Manager in "bringing his assistants with him" shocker. Nice to see who they are though.
  15. Impossible to say at this stage. Forren will be in for Hooiveld for the Utd game IMO then depends when Fonte is back and how we do before then. In the summer Hooiveld will go and another good CB might come in, or Stephens might replace him as a first team option even.
  16. He is close to joining Mansfield Town on loan which suprised me. Apparantly they have a bit of cash - he will score bucketloads at that level.
  17. Whoever it is they have a simple message to give to the players in the huddle or before the game in the dressing room: "Everyone in football is expecting us to crumble, our rivals think we will lose heavily and go down. Prove them wrong."
  18. MP used Osvaldo - a targetman - to great success at Espanyol. I don't get why people assume RL will be affected. In fact Argentina themselves have had loads of successful bigger strikers. I am sure he will value Lambert. I also saw someone comment that "De Ridder will probably get a run of games now then" and wondered what warped logic they had made to come to this conclusion.
  19. Yeah after two days in charge it would come at the right time!
  20. You can never expect anything other than a beating at OT.
  21. Looks like it. Quality setting that.
  22. Point per game yes, but won't be decided over this 4 game run. We are pretty much on par now yet had 4 points from 10 games at one point.
  23. The location doesnt matter I guess. If MP knows somewhere good then might as well go there. No shame in that!
  24. Makes sense. NA was saying about going to Spain anyway. With the weather here and no FA Cup game it is sensible.
  25. Whats the snow situation this morning?
