Trond Egil Soldvedt -
Agree - its quite "TalkSport". His name isn't even hard to say. If you can't manage foreign names then apart from pittying you I would urge you just to write MP.

Think the players dried up - especially in Norway who aren't what they were. -

Fair enough. All the rumours about Verdu, Kameni etc are the easiest for the media to create. Lazy really. -

I think Davis is behind Puncheon (Lallana is wearing green boots in the stretching pic). Cork is over the far side. With ball could be Morgan or Forren perhaps. Could be AL in the blue bib in front of the ball player.
-
Can anyone see Lallana or Fonte in that pic?

Butterfield will thrive under the new Gaffer. Apparantly he used to play with a right back at Espanyol which must encourage Butts.

With the reports Les Reed was at Coaching Conventions with Barca coaches and now this, I reckon we will have a couple of Barca nippers on loan before long....seems like we are trying to develop a cosy relationship with them - I doubt they let loads of teams use their training ground.

Strachan didn't learn and signed a load of these sweaties for Middlesborough too.

But first Chung will have a picture with a lifesize Messi cut-out.

Yeah on the net there is not much good stuff about Alvarez, sounds like one to avoid. -

He is the one that was rumoured in that Ramirez swap. -
Boruc most likely if any? Poss S Davis for Rangers.

There has never really been anything concrete on this one for me, unlike Astori. The latest reports just say we are believed to be considering upping our offer - hardly proof we have made a huge offer.
-
Apologies - I have lined up two crackers to end the week with. It is also important to remember signings like McCann - £1.5m thrown away. Easy to do - wouldn't say during the Cortese era there have been any as poor as this, bearing in mind when he signed 1.5m was probably still in our top 10 fees we had ever paid!
-
For me he was a terrible signing when we allegedly baulked at paying for Malbranque who at the time was class. McCann was coming to the end of his Rangers career and was on the downward slide - no time to jump into the Prem. He could deliver a semi decent cross but despite being very slow and weak on the ball always tried to go on the outside of the top Prem fullbacks....with little success. It might have worked against Gregor McDonald of Inverness but the Gary Neville's of the Prem just fly swotted him away. Terrible signing by WGS/Lowe because you could see from the first game he had no chance. I prefer our no 10 now.

Sky Italia report we are likely to raise our bid to €12m in the coming days. Source: @tancredipalmeri These Italians love a transfer saga but the fact he has played under him must count in our favour if we really are keen. http://www.gianlucadimarzio.com/calciomercato/inter-per-giugno-si-lavora-per-belhanda-offerta-del-southampton-per-coutinho/

Nick Harvey pretend Assistant Manager
Saint Charlie replied to Horton Heath Saint's topic in The Saints
For those that saw him on Sky tonight he does speak some English, not enough for pressers but enough to get his point over. He also said his assistant Jesus speaks good English. He will also learn English. Its very easy for the media to hang onto this just like they encouraged mass protests the other night that didnt happen. If he comes highly recommended from Jose Mourinho then he is ok by me and his comments in interviews show an intelligence IMO. -
Sure they will have to be good enough. Afterall probably the best regular U21 at the moment us Sam Hoskins who is on loan at Stevenage in L1 but on the bench all the time. No way ready for first team. Pochettino does IMO come across very very well.
-
Good interview and he comes across well yet again. Three key points. 1. He spoke about looking to the academy before automatically bringing players in, perhaps not right now but as a blueprint for the future. 2. Balague said Mourinho recommended him to Saints through a third party and said he would expect him to be a big success. 3. MP said he assistant Jesus speaks very good English but clearly his own isn't that terrible. Plus Graham Hunter in the Studio said he is a strict disciplinarian and he would expects there to be some bumps along the way but sometimes that can be a good think (the strict discipline)

Not sure if its been on yet.

Def need another attacking midfield option. De Ridder is hopeless and Guly for his effort doesnt create or take any chances. The season is so important, we need a little more cover in these areas and to provide spark from the bench.
