I would imagine the medical staff would veto any move to get him training too early. That said you can still see the swelling on the outer edge of the knee which isnt a good sign IMO and would certain restrict lateral movement of the joint as a whole. March a more realistic target by the looks of it.

Reeves often captains the U21 team - he is playing as a no 10 these days rather than left back though. Gut feeling is why won't quite make it at Saints but will be decent a bit lower down. Hopefully we will loan him out soon to see how he does.

You can tell by looking at his face in the picture with Adkins - he has no stress or pressure about himself because he is resigned to the fact he won't be seen on the pitch for Saints for 17 or 18 months.

If you read the Gerrard quotes he basically says he has no respect for Reed and another coach because they didn't mollycoddle him on his first trip away with the Eng squad. Zero to do with new training ground and coaching setups. More an indictment of the modern footballer.

Agree with the OP. He is clearly doing a good job against Cortese's acceptance criteria otherwise he wouldn't still be here. The facts you present about the U18 & U21s are testament to the coaching structure put in place (Reed was instrumental in bringing Martin Hunter to the Club) and Adkins has often referred to the beefed up scouting, which certainly seems to be the case. It is simply that people seek a scapegoat, don't understand what Reed actually is there to do and then lazily look at that short spell at Charlton. He hasn't been recruited to coach players. It would be like criticising Adkins for not doing much as a player - totally irrelevant. I am 99% sure we are better off with Reed here than without him.
