The turning point for Long was when Koeman gave him a run of games up front. Until then he was largely ineffective playing out wide or reduced to the role of reluctant Pelle replacement. For what we had seen from Long before he was overpriced. Now he is doing well, albeit in the knowledge he will always be iffy in front of goal. Very impressive of late and for the first time is a key, must start player.

Mane in for Pelle, Cedric for JWP.

Norwich **** up from 2-0 up today. Bournemouth well beaten. Sunderland get a great win and Newcastle 2-0 down at Chelsea within 10mins. Going to be really tight now. I'm just amazed West Brom seem to pick up quite a few points despite being utterly dreadful in the main.

Anyone find it slightly baffling that Reed hasn't gone out on loan? He is clearly too good for U21 football and equally clearly isn't a key first team player. Halfway through his 4 year deal, I would be more than a little frustrated if I was him. Hard to see him getting lots of games next year either, regardless of Wanyama staying or going. Tough situation because he is clearly promising.

He still wouldn't be in my first choice team even with Wanyama out. Shows how much competition there is in that area. Also crazy Harrison Reed isnt out on loan playing regular football.

Hopefully get him signed to a new contract in the summer. We are probably the best gig in town unless Man Utd or Chelsea come in for him. Excellent Manager.

Played well today. Still feel he needs to do more in an attacking sense if playing the most advanced of a CM 3 but he is doing ok.

Excellent win even if we didn't really click in attack. Davis looked much better in central midfield - should always start in there when fit. Lovely pass to Cedric who ironically made the kind of run Davis hadn't. Long played well and the goal will help him as they had dried up a bit for him since Arsenal. Romeu and Clasie good and all CBs excellent. Only slight frustration for me was Pelle - didn't play well. 5th or 6th is up for grabs this season.

Romeu will need to be disciplined second half.

HT Summary: 1. We have been very comfortable but poor in attack. 2. Davis RWB doesn't work and Swansea only have one striker so do we even need 3 CBs? 3. If Pelle plays then surely you supply him from wide areas. Davis and Targett have barely got forward. 4. JWP doesnt do enough as an advanced midfielder. Davis far superior in that role and in this game could even play Mane there. 5. We really should win this with a little more attacking quality.

Thats Shane Long unfortunately.

Koeman said he wanted a more attacking player there but IMO Cedric makes more attacking runs than Davis has. I would shift Davis to where JWP has been and put Cedric on for JWP. Probably also Mane shortly after HT. There is a win available with a little more attacking quality.

Very comfortable but poor in attack so far for all the possession we have had.
