Have just watched the highlights back and once again you have to ask why Bazunu isn't racing out and cutting down the angle for Oxford's winner - he is rooted close to his near post (is he continually roped to it or does he draw comfort from it?) and invites the attacker to pick his spot.

Let's be brutally honest for once - we do not have a particularly good squad. We play 3 centre backs and don't have a decent one at the club. We play wing backs and don't have a decent one at the club. We have 3 goalkeepers all of who are useless. We have zero physical presence apart from the 3 centre backs. Azaz and Fellows are both good on their day but very hit and miss. Armstrong will score goals but needs the right service which he's not now getting. Downes is nothing more than average at this level. Jander has much promise but is having to do too much. Our subs in general weaken us rather than giving us a lift. We are not that good if we're being blunt. If we were any good we'd be showing it week in week out as teams like Coventry do.

Simply because he was taken off when he had just started to cause Oxford big problems. Give him a bit more time to see if he can create a goal.

Goalkeeper must be the number one priority. Trouble is, these clowns will likely give Bazunu a new 4 year contract.

No we didn't...we played a lot of forward vertical passes and did it quickly. We have reverted to the worst aspects of Russball including walking football, passing between centre backs for no reason or gain and passing backwards rather than forwards.

So you're saying it is not possible for us to sign a goalkeeper who will be a massive improvement on Bazunu? Weird. Can't agree and it wouldn't even be difficult.

If Eckert wants to keep his job he better start shouting from the rooftops that he needs a new goalkeeper and insisting he gets one. If he stay silent and continues to select Bazunu he is signing his own resignation letter now.

Fuck the medical guys - they have far too much say in things. These players are not running flat out for 90 minutes every game - there are plenty of rest periods.

Spot on. Fellows had not done much but he suddenly came to life and was giving Oxford serious problems so Eckert decides it's the time to take him off. He could have taken him off ten minutes earlier and I'd have not batted an eyelid but why take him off when he's finally having an impact. Maybe football is just too complicated a game these days - or maybe it's a simple game complicated by too many smartarses trying to reinvent the wheel.

Welcome. Last of the big spenders 🙂 but now you can really launch into this bunch of underachieving lightweights.

The spine of this team needs rebuilding in January - bring in a competent goalkeeper, a big strong centre back who actually marks opponents, a tall midfielder who doesn't get knocked off the ball and covers every blade of grass plus a big powerful centre forward who puts the fear of God up the opposition. Stick with what we have and it's going to be a miserable second half of the season. Midgets are great in panto but few of them excel in the blood and thunder cauldron of a professional football match.

We are not going up without him. It's not just on the manager - our squad is far too lightweight to compete. Match after match we get outmuscled all over the pitch. I'm sick of saying it. Spors claimed he was going to sort out the lack of physical presence but he hasn't. You will not win football matches with a team full of weak, half-hearted fairies who get knocked off the ball by a slight breeze. Stop buying midgets and start buying warriors with pace and power.

Fellows hadn't been great but he was just starting to get up a head of steam and causing them problems when Tonda decided it would be a good time to take him off.

Let's make no bones about this - Oxford were fucking useless and we've managed to gift wrap them 3 of the easiest points they'll get all season. This team of ours continues to have a really soft underbelly. Possession with zero purpose and players wandering around making no effort to show for the ball between the lines. Forget a play-off place this lot are heading where they deserve - lower table obscurity and the fans deserve a lot better. For the love of God bring in some physical units in January to give us some fight because these midget weaklings are as soft as shit.

Can't see this lot getting a play-off spot unless there is some serious movement in the Jan window. For all the talk of having a better squad than most we are actually incredibly average all over the park.

Cowardly football from us. No risk taking. Just content to recycle in areas where we can't hurt them. If we don't up our game considerably there's a fair chance this will be our 3rd straight away defeat. Buck your ideas up guys because that was very safe and uninspiring against a very poor opponent.

Scienza, Fellows, Azaz and Armstrong have been very very poor. They are normally our best players so that tells you how shit we've been. Once again we are far too content to play slow Russball at the back instead of making quick vertical passes to progress us through the lines. zzzzzzzzzzzz!
