  1. He's without a club so is available. He'll be 34 in September and always seemed to keep himself in great shape when playing for us. I could see him anchoring our midfield and using his experience and guile to make up for the loss of a bit of pace - he was never the quickest anyway so didn't rely on speed. If he was at Staplewood added to the fact that he pitched up at our training camp in Spain this might be something to keep an eye on.
  2. Footballers are generally used to moving around and if Romeu does come it would likely only be for a season so he could easily rent a place here and keep his gaff in Spain. Potentially great for us if he's still got something left in the tank but probably won't happen.
  3. Rangers have signed some decent players particularly Antman and Gassama. These two would have been easily affordable for us and are proof that you don't have to wait until the final week of the transfer window to make good deals - ok, they may have been attracted to Rangers by the draw of European football but I'm fairly sure they are not the only two players of this level who could have been signed before the hectic transfer dealing starts.
  4. Rangers looking very good tonight so fair play to Russell Martin. Has the penny finally dropped? At last he's playing people in their correct positions so no square pegs in round holes and there's been zero suicidal playing out from the back particularly at goal kicks. He has always maintained he'll never compromise - well, tonight he has and Rangers look so much better for it. Question is, does he revert to type as he has at other clubs in the past.
  5. Agree, perhaps the lad will get stuck into the new season and give it everything he's got if he's still with us. Two sides to every coin and I'm not trying to disrespect Tyler because I'm sure he'll deal with any potential disappointment in his own way.
  6. You miss my point - I have no issue with him leaving and will wish him well. However, if he doesn't get a transfer and feels the club has stood in his way I think we might have problems with him this season.
  7. Sorry, don't understand this comment, it seems contradictory.
  8. If he stays we'll see if it is nonsense.
  9. You may be right although the youngster Fernandes never dropped his effort in any games - a good example for others to follow.
  10. It's my take on it and I respect you have a different view. No doubt we'll see how it pans out although I think it still very likely he'll leave..
  11. Well, I think he showed a lack of application last season after Russell Martin was sacked.
  12. Well you have more confidence in the attitude he shows than I do. He strikes me as a lad who will spit the dummy if he thinks we are standing in the way of his move. I think he'll find it easy to coast through training and games.
  13. Have you been living on the moon - of course he wants to go 🙂
  14. If I'm so sure what is the case?
  15. He wants to go. If we make him stay don't expect to see him busting a gut for us this season - he'll be going through the motions and doing as little as possible.
  16. Unfortunately, it's also the reason they'll continue to fail to build any sort of decent side.
  17. We'll find out on Saturday I guess.
  18. Depends whether you think their eventual settled side will be better than ours I guess as we currently have upheaval of our own to deal with.
  19. Doe anyone know for sure that he hasn't put in a transfer request? Him and his agent have made it clear he wants to move on - maybe the club should tell him to put it in writing if he hasn't already done so.
  20. Yeah, Will Still has to be a bit diplomatic here. It looks increasingly like he's got Baz as his number one whether he likes it or not so he's no choice but to come out and give him some sort of positive endorsement. Not sure he's all in on Baz though and he'll have done plenty of his own research on him.
  21. If he's no longer the worst keeper in the division he'll have made progress 🙂
  22. We need to be careful how we handle this sale. If we play hardball and nobody matches our valuation we run the risk of ending up with a disgruntled player who might well give us a half hearted season at the end of which we flog him for far less than 40 odd million.
  23. Fixed that for you 🙂
  24. Are there agile, morbidly obese men?
  25. Not everyone may like the fact but Russell Martin remains an interesting conversation topic and many fans will continue to follow how he gets on at Rangers. I don't rate him as a manager because he is not proactive and is welded to one way of playing. As a person I can't decide whether he's an egotist, a narcissist or a genuinely decent bloke - probably a bit of all three.
