  1. Maybe so, but maybe Lowe thought he could avoid it? Maybe he was given assurances by Barclays that were then rescinded? Nobody will ever know exactly what occured. But I do wish people who blame Lowe entirely for administration would take a few moments to get their facts straight. There were a lot of things he got wrong, a number of bad decisions he made. But it was not his decision to place Saints into administration.
  2. Have you not learned to read? Barclay's put us into admin, not Lowe.
  3. What about a live bear?
  4. He turned professional shortly after winning gold at the 2000 Olympics. He was a great amateur boxer, but crap as a professional.
  5. I can't help but feel this was FIFA's way of screwing us over after the BBC basically accused them of being a corrupt bunch of ****s. This will be all over the papers tomorrow and you can bet there will be a lot of bile directed towards the BBC. Their programme couldn't have been shown at a worse time really. It doesn't make sense as FIFA have actually said, on the record, that the English bid was the ONLY one which would definitely have met all of their profit targets. But, Russia? They are rife with corruption, crowd violence and racism at football. What sort of message does that send out exactly? Not to mention the amount of air travel that will be required during the tournament because of Russia being so fecking massive. In an age when reducing your carbon footprint is supposed to be a priority for all. It's an absolute joke really. Shame on FIFA, I think they really f*cked up on this one. Any of the bids would have been better than Russia (and that's taking into account that I'm not keen on jointly hosted bids either).

I think Baj and Steve would probably take care to choose good moderators to be honest, otherwise it puts the integrity of the site into question.

    Mods

A mod's job isn't easy. I admin another Saints forum, and of a team of 4 mods I'm basically the only one left as one sadly passed away and the other two are hardly ever online anymore. That site is a lot less busy than this one so I can understand that moderating this forum must be a b*tch at times.
  8. FFS, Steve Grant can do whatever the hell he likes. If you want news, there's plenty of other sources for it. And if paying a fiver is that much of an issue, then post on other forums which don't charge.
  9. I just want to see Southampton Football Club win games of football. Regardless of what division they happen to be in at the time. Premier League would be ideal, but I just want to see my team win. It's an expensive past-time for me anyway, as I can't afford to get down anywhere near as often as I would like to but I think that would still be the case even if we were in the blue square leagues. It's just that cash is tight for me personally, and when I go the missus and kids want to go as well! (I successfully brainwashed all of them )
  10. I saw him in the Winchester branch of Eyesite about 3 weeks ago, so I reckon one thing he's done is have an eye test.
  11. Petty, yet quite funny. The Bournemouth chairman is a pratt.
  12. Didn't we beat Bournemouth in the league cup wearing the sash?
  13. Why come on here and slag off a positive post? We could all do with some positive thinking as far as Saints are concerned.
  14. One thing I will say is that for anybody who is suffering from a slow connection (ie, Orange!), then it's worth downloading Opera Mini from the Android Market. It lacks some of the funky features of other browsers in the market, but it loads pages quickly even when you're outside the 3G area.
  15. I'd avoid Orange if you can. Great deals but terrible network coverage.
  16. Try a chainsaw. But be careful, obviously.
  17. I'd say go for it. I've got the HTC Hero which the Desire is essentially an updated version of. You can get a wide range of apps for it, plus it has Google Navigation included in the software, which is great. The touch screen is also extremely good, and rivals the Iphone for responsiveness. Internet browsing capabilities are very good. I'm actually posting this message using my HTC Hero. The only real downside to it is that the battery life is pretty poor, but that is pretty much par for the course with the current crop of powerful smartphones. Contract-wise, I got this back in March on a 24 month contract with 3, paying £25 per month. Included in that is 500 cross network minutes, 3000 or 4000 texts (can't remember which, but either way it's plenty) plus 1GB internet usage.
  18. I'm of the belief that some places deliberately sabotage certain parking meters in order to screw parking penalty charges out of people.

  20. My brother suffered a dislocated shoulder playing rugby. It kept popping back out, doing less and less strenuous things, including the last time when it popped out when all he did was bend over to pick something up. After that surgery was a necessity on it. So yes, it can be a nasty injury and unless it's properly treated will keep coming back to haunt whoever has suffered it. It's a pain Richardson's been out for so long, but for the good of his career as well as his long term health, it's a good thing they've taken their time in bringing him back, just to make sure that the injury has been properly resolved.
  21. It's by charging the the admins can afford to run the site on their own server.
  22. There is http://thesaintsfc.proboards.com, which I am admin for. There is also the Southampton messageboards on the Footymad and Vital Football sites, but all 3 have a smaller userbase, and therefore less traffic than Saints Web.

    Dean Hammond

Who's captain at the moment then? I've not been to SMS yet this season so haven't noticed that he wasn't anymore.

    Pope

Maybe so, but I was a baby then so I was completely oblivious to the name of the pope's special vehicle.
  25. I noticed that as well. Also some very encouraging words there about how Nigel Adkins has set about the job in hand. The more I hear, the more I think this was an incredibly smart appointment by Nicola Cortese.
