We're linked with probably hundreds of players each season. Why was this ever 'hot' ?

Sharp, Maynard, CMS - who would be best for saints?

I tried so hard to forget about David McGoldrick. So, so hard. One of the worst players I've ever seen. So they should. He is. If I played in a top six Championship team last season, it wouldn't make me a good player. -

I've just spoken to someone who works a lot with Peterborough, I asked him about CMS' likely destination. "Word up here is West Ham is a done deal" -
I'm aware of all this. David Nugget is off to Leicester. Hope someone's readying another screenshot of the squad list on Wikipedia...!

That doesn't necessarily mean it's not true, though I grant you it is quite unlikely. I'd like to believe it's not true purely because the Mirror is a sorry excuse for a publication and Oliver Holt is not one my favourite colleagues at all. Not by a very long way.

He's a Chelsea fan, so to dream of playing in front of a capacity crowd at Fratton is a bit of a strange one. He's a nice guy and an alright player but I don't understand what all the fuss is about. Perhaps a solid League One signing...

Well, a lot of people thought it was ******** when Theo was reported to have done the same back in 05/06. Then Rupert said he had been there to look at the facilities so we could have an example to copy when improving our own at Staplewood. I don't really expect him to stay unfortunately. It's a shame but that's how it will be with promising young players of ours for a long time to come.

Birmingham now have Hughton who used him in his promotion winning side with Newcastle, and they're about to lose Gardner to Sunderland - plus they've already lost Larsson to the Mackems. Seems they're a bit short in midfield. As I say, wouldn't mind him down here. Could be very useful.
-
Danny Guthrie is wanted by Birmingham. I thought he looked quite promising with us, wouldn't mind him coming back. Thoughts?
-
Would have to agree really. Seen him a few times, not sure what all the fuss is about.
-
I thought that once, but a lot of them do have a degree of truth in them. Just because a transfer doesn't happen, it doesn't mean it wasn't true and a club didn't put in a bid or weren't interested. In this case however, it's a pretty poor rumour. Who wouldn't be interested in AOC?

Here we go again. Chamberlain will sign for Arsenal next week, says the ever-reliable (sarcasm) Mirror. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Ricky-Alvarez-set-to-be-first-of-THREE-Arsenal-signings-next-week-including-Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain-and-Gervinho-article752234.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

He's apparently going to QPR. Sorry.
-
Was it? I've not got my copy of 'Strachan' to hand. My mistake. It wasn't an anti-Lowe post in case people were wondering.
-
I think we should help our neighbours in their time of need. We'll let you have Tommy Forecast. No no. We insist.
-
That's a good point actually. Sharp played at S****horpe under Adkins and did very well, so it's a player he knows well and he also knows how to get the best out of him. Perhaps Forte would get a few more games too. While I'm thinking, let's have Andy Keogh (if fully fit), Gary Hooper and Martin Paterson...!
-
They seem to be quite thick in general!
-
Indeed. I find it quite alarming that Lowe refused to pay £7 million for both Saha and Malbranque in one deal saying it would make our rivals stronger financially, but paid £4 million for a man who to all intents and purposes only has a long throw to boast about. Gareth Bale also has a hell of a throw on him by the way, so it's not as if it's a rarity in modern football.

Warming up against Swiss second division sides. Hmm. Oh well, it can't go much worse than last year.
-
Reading on a forum - normally full of complete ****e - that we're in for a player is not something 'hotting up'.
-
Absolutely.
-
Indeed. For what it's worth I don't think he'd go to Burnley on a permanent deal.
-
Exactly. Just one of far too many unfounded claims regarding the Club's management at the moment, this agent is making one too. Unless he wants to back it up, and a lot of people have asked him to, it's not worth talking about. Saying 'oh I heard it from other agents' is ********. Put up or shut up.
-
Jumping to conclusions really. That's assuming we want him, have spoken to him, have arranged a fee... I really wouldn't get so carried away. As for who this club is, I've not heard anything more but I'm trying to find out.
