  1. I have prepared a statement. I am flattered to be nominated by Mr. Thedelldays for the vacancy of Moderator but owing to work commitments will not be applying for the position. I would like to wish Mr. stevegrant and SaintsWeb the very best in their recruitment process, and look forward to the announcement of the successful candidate. Yours sincerely Crazy Diamond
  2. For the love of God, no!
  3. I saw them at the BIC in 2006. They were very good indeed. Enjoy!
  4. Richard Dunne? Christ. He's past it. On the decline for years from what I've seen and heard.
  5. I asked for some inside photos of an Ealing property on Thursday evening. On Friday morning I found myself being told that I had arranged a viewing and would need to move in within a week and that I would be giving over a fee of £600 for doing so. A £600 moving in fee? Is that normal? At any rate, I told them I wouldn't be going to their viewing owing to their hostile manner and have withdrawn interest in the property.
  6. Fair enough. I'm going to remain unconvinced personally. He was on near £100k a week not too long ago and has disciplinary problems. I'd be amazed if he signed for us.
  7. And how many times have you seen Zaha in the flesh?
  8. Certain people went mental for Steve de Ridder based on YouTube. I thought lessons had been learned...
  9. It's a good point actually, one I'd not really thought of. Although, I did struggle at time to see where our backup plan was. Blackpool away for example.
  10. Not sure how much say Justin would have in it - the media department used to plan all the music to the second. Don't know if they still do but that's how it was, and I believe they chose the goal music.
  11. I'm sorry to hear that. We've got loads of the bastards congregating on the patio, there's even the odd flying ant knocking about. My grandmother has recommended the use of a bucket of water or some bleach to get rid of them.
  12. I respect your opinion but disagree with it.
  13. What I'm trying to say is that to my mind, we were the best team last season because our football was both nice to watch and successful. The two don't always go hand in hand. We have managed to combine both which is a fantastic thing to do, especially in a division as tough as the Championship. But I did say that it would cause some debate and here we are...!
  14. We played the best brand of football - an attractive and successful one. I don't know of any other team that did. I do not care for Reading's style of play and they weren't in the top two all season - we were. The kit is the only negative thing I can think of. I don't want to say anything about signings, as I'm not a total idiot, there is still plenty of time to bring in the numbers we need.
  15. I've had problems with ants in my garden, should I start a thread?
  16. I was in Crystal Palace park last week and given a flyer about her. Sounds like the community's efforts to get her found are going to be in vain, sadly. I'm sure it's already been said but it's a little bit weird that the grandmother's boyfriend was questioned or was helping the enquiry. Grandmother's boyfriend? Is it me or does that suggest a family that are having children at stupidly young ages...
  17. I'd dispute both those points actually! East London has become fashionable with dickheads. Many are around my age, wear loafers with no socks, turned up jeans, ironic t-shirts and fake glasses. I'm sure there are nice people there but that category of person is around too.
  18. I've struggled to see what the big deal is with Zaha. If he wasn't English, and there are those that might say he isn't anyway, there wouldn't be as much fuss about him, nor such a stupid price tag. I think that's for certain.
  19. My season preview will actually be up next Thursday. Got the dates mixed up. I've said one or two things that I know will cause debate, namely last season who played the best style of football and our new kit. I was asked, and I told!
  20. You'd think so, wouldn't you? As long as it's done in the right way, I'm okay with it. But throwing someone in like Steve Wigley, who wasn't even that good a coach (somehow he always finds employment, I cannot understand why), is not an option for us anymore. It'll destroy everything all over again. We must remember that Nigel won't be around forever, so I'm hopeful of a system to educate young coaches as well as players.
  21. I distinctly remember an interview with him in a matchday programme, most likely the 2005/06 season, he had cancer, recovered and was enjoying life. Think he regularly went back to France - he must have done, as he had a property out there whilst working over here.
  22. Martin Hunter is a top appointment. It has made me wonder though, will there be the same progression in coaching as there is planned with players? By which I mean, will we take on good youth coaches, train them up, get them doing the reserves, and then eventually when the time comes, the first team? After all we are looking for a similar system to Ajax and Barcelona, where the same type of play is carried on throughout the age groups, so the man who starts by coaching the kids and eventually becomes manager knows all he needs to. Could Martin Hunter be a future Southampton manager? He was a great man. I was amazed it took as long as it did for him to go back to France and work at a top club over there.
  23. I realise that I am against the grain on this one but I prefer the tube. I'll bear it in mind though. Thanks for the offer - at the moment I'm not considering sharing and £900PCM is my limit. No absolute guarantee that I will get the job at the end of the three months but I'm one month in, they now can't do without me and they're asking about my availability in October. Sounds promising. It's a gamble though, all the same. I'm hoping I'll get a pay rise and be able to look at stuff for over the £1000PCM mark. By then though I'm also hoping some recently graduated friends of mine will be up here with jobs, in which case I'll move in with them. I'm trying to avoid long walks. I've got problems with my knees and shins, plus I've also got a dodgy achilles tendon. It snapped once and has never been quite the same since. Hence the desire to be pretty much door to door with the tube stations.
  24. Cheers fella. I'd like something on the Central line as it means not changing, Holborn is on both the Pic and Central but Chancery Lane is the closest to my new office and that's Central. Hmm. The place I like the look of most is ex-council. It's been refurbed, the area is nice. Having second thoughts now. Sharing = no no no. Yeah I've been checking it out, it is an ex-council place but it has been done up to a nice standard. As I just said, thinking twice now though... Trying to avoid overground rail travel. Motspur Park didn't have a lot going for it when I left in '95 and seemed to be going downhill quite quickly. My old school was one of the worst in the country and there were constant bad stories about the secondary school, for example. No, again, overground so I'm looking elsewhere. I have a friend who lives there though, or lived there at least, haven't spoken to him for over a year. Friend of my ex, very messy. Interesting. I absolutely hate busses and with good reason, but I'm told in London they're not too bad. I just know what I'm doing with the tube. I may have to venture north as I'm not seeing much in W/SW at the moment. Cheers.
