I had a great day.
The game was intense and the atmosphere at SMS was amazing; you can only get that kind of atmosphere at a derby game.
On the pitch we matched them for 75% of the game, and gave a good account of ourselves; the scoreline flattered the visitors.
We were undone because 75% of our defense were donkeys; but we all knew that they would struggle against the acceleration and speed of the poopey counter attack. As others have stated in this thread our defenders were redeemed for most of the match by our midfield.
Just a quick thought on Rickie taking corners...... I would hazard a guess that AP sees RL and AL as our best delivery men, but RL lacks the pace to get back and defend opposition counter attacks, whereas AL can get back quickly which we saw him do yesterday. Hence AL is left in a position where he can get back, and does not take the corners.
I would expect to see LJ taking the set pieces when he is on the pitch..... incidentally, why wasn't he in the team?
