This news has definately tempered my spirits today. Tragic news. R.I.P. Big fella. You thoroughly entertained me with your great displays in a saints shirt. Way too young to go. Thankyou Dean Richards.

I know we have had a bit of a running battle reference our opinoins over Adkins and i of course would be chuffed to gain promotion and get out of this poxy league, but niether Adkins or the squad are living upto the billing we had been given by many on here or the pundits. The failings of other clubs to capitalise is doing more for our promotion hopes than we are ourselves.
-
Lets get some points in the bag before looking at the realistic proposition of automatic promotion (2nd place),which should have been the minimal expectation Notts County,Tranmere,Peterborough,Hartlepool, poor results and performances combined.Dropped points, simple as.
-
Sincerely hope this is unfounded. Bloody marvellous player in his time with us.
-
Notts County,Tranmere,Peterborough,Hartlepool and the narrow victory against Carlisle...all poor performances.
-
We appear to have been given copius amounts of good fortune reference our rivals recent results. Perhaps we should start creating our own good fortune instead of relying on others. Other sides have really failed to capitalise on our recent poor results and performances, just like we have with them. very weak and mediocre league, which makes our lack of progress more galling.

Always good to reminice..... http://www.portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=115723 loving the few comments.

This season is giving me the squits too.
-
And so it bloody should be. The only table that matters is the league table,in my view. And at present we are 5th and 6 points off automatic promotion, stuttering along, dropping points ala Notts County,Peterborough,Hartlepool etc.. Coupled with poor performances that show no sign of abating. This concerns me.
-
They stopped using collingwood, for the nippers sqaud, because of unpaid rent. He is right about the A32 however!
-
We currently hold 5th position in the league. Games in hand have to be won,so lets not count points in the bag that are not there. The lottery of the play offs was not somewhere i anticipated with the squad we have. Arrogant that may be to some, i will agree, but we show little sign of an automatic promotion side. More questions should have been asked after the peterborough away game. Giving away a 2 goal lead twice shows incompetance on many levels.

In all truthfulness i have not seen one poster request the removal of our manager. However strong in my critisism in the appointment in Adkins has been i have not hastely rushed in and suggested his removal. Yet he is working below par, as our performances in general have shown. People can throw as many stats around as they see fit but it is the manner in which we are performing is of most concern at present. He is underperforming along with the playing squad. He was brought in to take us forward,he is not fulfilling his remit. He will prove impotent in the transfer windows and not have the draw to bring in the higher calibre of player we will require for this league or more importantly the championship,if he manages to get us to limp over the line that is. Our playing style has barely changed to the much vaunted style apparently Adkins' sides adopt. He is mediocre at best, which unfortunately our squad seem to have become. And with this squad at his disposal it is not good enough. But i'm sure many will hail any victory over swindon as 'everything is alright in the garden'. He was never going to be here for the '5 year plan' short term appointment which was based on what he did at scunny,a side with minimal expectations. For those insistant on using his time at Scunny as a measuring stick, look a bit closer and you might see a more balanced view,Mr Laws had a hand in that work too i believe....oh and a relegation thrown in too. No comparison between us and Scunny. Please prove me wrong Mr Adkins.

Thank goodnes i won't be having this in close proximity...... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/bygone-blues/lampitt_blues_training_ground_search_on_hold_1_2447713 This was initially trumpeted by the club as a major step forward and was a definate goer in Gosport. From what i was led to believe it was a non starter and the club slightly over exagerated their connection with the ownership of the land. I think this has been glossed over somewhat by the club, more lies during their time of strife. Nice to see it in black and white however.

This. And the bit highlighted, bang on the money.

The difference between Southampton and Brighton...

I certainly would not advocate a change in manager, but i will critisize when i see fit. And at this moment in time our performances, that have been served up, are well below par with what we have at our disposal. Adkins is not getting the best out of the squad. -
League Table since Adkins - indications for 2nd half of season?

Nope. HTH. -
Nothing less than a victory will suffice. Doing it in style would make a nice change also.
