Don't let me down Nigel...another so so signing please. We will walk this league. Preperations for the championship are moving at a pace. Devils advocate and all.
-
I aim to please.
-
Good luck to the lad, but extremely underwhelmed. Does it make us better,i seriously doubt it.
-
Heres hoping.

Wowsers.

We have signed Guly,Lallana on improved/longterm deals. We have signed Chaplow, and N'Guesson(sp) This is no more than we already had,we are not 'pushing on' and these players are the same players that have taken us to 4th in the league,4th is not good enough considering the resources available to Adkins.Oh and yes we have games in hand, but we need to win those.Lot's of away days to come. The stance that we do not need to stengthen is not the right one, imo. Unfortunately i feel we will be 'impotent'in this transfer window, just when we needed to position ourselves ready for a promotion push, and more importantly, ready for the championship. Don's tin helmet and retires to bunker, for incoming flak

As i stated in an earlier post football has totally lost touch with the real world. I really don't think it is possible to compete in the higher echelons of 'the Premier league'
-
Charlie Adam will sign for Liverpool in the next few hours. They sell torres to chelsea for around £50m and get in Suarez and Carroll, not bad business. Although £35m for Carroll is mental.
-
take a punt on conor sammon. worth an enquiry atleast. derby have had a 400k bid turned down. if we have any serious aspirations we do need to look towards preparing for the championship.
-
some of these trnasfer fees being banded about are obscene. football remains out of touch with the real world. If we ever return to the Premier league we would never be able to compete. And im not sure i would want us to.

The Scottish number one is struggling oncemore when it counts, thus far.
-
We will lose and Shneiderlein(sp) will get sent off. Or... We will win comforatably, with no bookings or injuries. HTH.

So you agree,i have a point. I think most are on the post match thread actually, berating the performance yesterday, who would that be down to aswell as the playing squad?
-
I notice only a couple of people have rushed to his defence, considering how many are 'online' now.
-
It was in the small print, along with "if you don't gain promotion you have failed, close the door on the way out"
-
I would much rather have the points on the board than rely on winning a game in hand to achieve our aims. But if that is your ambitions for the season,so be it. Sums up my point perfectly.Adkins is not as faultless as many percieve.
-
For us to be sitting in one of the automatic promotion places, right now. And we should be.No excuses.
-
You make a statment but do not addresss the question, your 'meh,**** happens' kinda sums it up. Happy to hail the manager, but in no way would you concede he has faults. I'm glad i managed to rise above that and eat humble pie when i conceded i thought he was not as bad as i originally thought.
-
Throwing stats around but skirts the issue and does not answer the question shocker.
-
Did you think 'this is the kind of game we would lose'? If you answered yes you then you prove my point. If you answered no,then you are lying. We will lose again, but i would like that defeat to come as a surprise, not as another notice of resignation that we can't beat certain sides. Would you like to have that air of arrogance that we can go anywhere and play anyone and get a result,i would. Ask the supporters of the top flight clubs, that invariably win week in week out, without the concern of who they are up against,on a warm saturday afternoon or a wet and windy Tuseday night.

But it is down to the manager to alter/maintain the fans mindset. And if the fans can see us going away to places and losing,as in'this is the type of game we will lose' then he is not succeeding in his remit. And no i do not see us winning every game and battering all that is put before us,but to have resigned ourselves to a possible defeat proves that we are not reaching our potential. So many on here hailed his appointment, yet the same people were saying'this is the type of game we will lose'.You can't habve it both ways. He is either doing a great job, hence we should not have the 'losing 'mindset,or we should all concur in the fact that he is not fullfilling his potential with what many would say as the best sqaud this league has seen in a considerable time. What is it to be?

What i am looking for is something different. Many on here where adamant that NA was 'something different' to what we had previous. How many on here were stating 'Tranmere...oh..thats the kind of game we will lose, typical Saints' well if that is the case we have not changed one iota. People were slating Pardew for losing that 'type' of game, yet Adkins does just that so no improvements have been made. NA has not got the -10 to use as an excuse,he will be a failure if we do not go up. The things that he has at his disposal, compared to other clubs,is astonishing. We had a great little run of 5 games, but that is a mere drop in the ocean to a club with the ambitions that we supposedly have. We will never win every game, and we will suffer defeats, but the 'meh we will lose at tranmere,it's the kind of game we always lose' attitude adopted by some on here is not acceptable. And the only person the can help change that attitude is the manager,in what he instills in his side. Do the likes of Man U,Arsenal adopt that attitude,no,because they have a belief that they can be unbeatable,i know that is an extreme of an example but this is the mentality we have to adopt now. Adkins is so bloody wishy washy it's incredible. He has undoubted talent, but i am afraid it has not been on display thus far to any extent. Until we as fans lose this stigma of us being resigned to losing at clubs such as Tranmere then the manager has failed. This will be one of the yardsticks i will judge our currant incumbant. We will never gain perfection, but we need to be making headway if we have serious designs on getting to the Premier League. We are standing still. And i will say it,Pardew made more headway with this club in the time he was here, considering what he had when he arrived,NA has it on a plate yet i don't see any vast improvements. I make no apologies for my views,i desperatly want NA to succeed, perhaps that is half the problem. Yet i will not be forced into towing the line with many on here that think he is the 'lucky to have him' option.

And i am afraid this opitimises it all. This tosh was being spouted before a ball was kicked in anger.
