  1. Home after the game, which was great fun to watch and gives me bragging rights.
  2. Forgot to say, for those of us above Brum, The Cheshire Cat opens this week. It's a tough, tough early season ride.
  3. Dorset is ******* lumpy. That is all.
  4. There was hardly a car from Ironbridge to Atcham. Strong headwind though.
  5. 135 very windy kilometres today through Ironbridge Gorge and out past the Roman ruins at Wroxeter before swing back through the Shropshire & Staffordshire countryside. 1st 55km was straight into the wind and that was hard. Turned back into again after 95km and that was really hard especially as the last 40km was solo across high farmland that is really exposed to the wind.
  6. Just keep turning the cranks. Make sure you eat properly when riding. Makes a big difference. We are out your way tomorrow. Out to Shrewsbury via Ironbridge and back via High Ercall and Newport. 110km. I'll add in another 20km or so at the end. Steady tempo and flat for us.
  7. Yep, thought it easy.
  8. Personally I thought it an easy win.
  9. What would you like me to call it?
  10. Meaty challenge in the 3-3 game. They're very precious are Stokies.
  11. It's a fair point. Most seem to be fans since they got to the BPL.
  12. A terrible reason to have to come back to the UK. You can catch the Piccadilly line direct from LHR to Kings Cross.
  13. They're Stokies. They're bitter about everything. You would be if you lived in Stoke. It's a known fact that your IQ drops 30points but you gain 30lb as soon as you cross the city boundary. It's a relief every night when I get in the car and leave the place.
  14. I spend my working day in Stoke. Pray for me. Suppose it doesn't help with them being the 3rd best supported team in the Potteries behind Utd and the Bin Dippers. Going to make you bitter that is.
  15. Interesting point. We all know how good Shaw was last season but was it because of the make up of the team and the players around him? Personally I hope the lad comes good.
  16. Good comparison. Swiss Ramble's financial reports are epic.
  17. Yes. The were very apologetic over the confusion caused and have offered nipper and I comp' tickets for the Leicester game. Unfortunately for us my lad has county cricket trials that day so my BiL and nephew are going instead.
  18. Be interesting to see as to whether his purchase clause can be activated in Jan'. Hope so, he's been top draw so far.
  19. Even as definite pro-European that it utterly and totally bang out of order.
  20. And? The shiit pubs that closed were because they were shiit, not working class, middle class or any other class, just shiit. Around here they have been the pubs that serve middle class estates but didn't cater for families, the massive places like the photo Pap posted or the more "local" pubs in and around the town centre. Still plenty of traditional pubs with separate lounge\public bars and I drink in one. The best thing though as been the rise of the real ale pubs.
  21. New tyres and tubes done with a minimum of effing and jeffing with made a change. Test spin tonight I think.
  22. Plenty of pubs have closed in Stafford but they were of the "shiit pub" category. All the decent pubs remain with a few new real ale pubs opening and they do a roaring trade.
  23. I'm encouraging mine to go to uni in Holland for the reasons you've stated plus some others. Nipper wants to go to Soton though so he can have a ST again.
