Happy days as I've convinced the Mrs that coming home early from Dorset so I can go to see Saints at the Brit' is vital!

I went to Keele some 20 odd years ago & played (poorly) for Neil Baldwin FC in my 2nd & some of my 3rd year. Watched the programme on iplayer and it brought back some great memories and Neil can still be found on campus and watched the original broadcast wearing a tux' in the SU bar surrounded by youngsters. Stoke may be a dog hole (Keele and Newcastle Under Lyme are not) but I do like Stokies and still enjoy working there.

One is going with his Doris on an organised trip and two of us will DIY but we will all ride together. Only doing the medium route though for logistical reasons. Also gives us some real focus through the winter months.

3 of us have agreed to do the Ronde van Vlaanderen next April. Must be chuffing mad.

Cadence will come as the legs strengthen. let the gears do the work, it's what they are for but the little ring is for climbing only. Use of the small ring on anything except hills is the first sign of gayness.

That's rather good actually.

We are usually on the road by 07.00 on a Sunday, even earlier if off on a big ride. As we don't usually stop (never for rides less than 100km) we are often back for lunch. Lovely quite roads and usually some very odd sights.

Rode alongside the Mrs today as she did her 1st metric 100km. Really proud of her.

Sufferfest. Work a treat for me. I'll ride every weekend through the winter with a couple of mates and turbo at least twice. One "flat" intervals and one an overgeared "hilly" session. Hill interval training his certainly paying dividends. Climbing so much better than I was.

I despise QPR so I fully expect Saints to lose.

I'm on wind down

I hilly 60km with 1000m of climbing just done on Cannock Chase and a lazy (for me) 100km planned with the Mrs for Sunday.

What a huge steaming pile of turd.

My nipper has just bought a Xbox One, upgrading from a 360 simply because all of his friends use Xbox. I'll use it for a bit before deciding whether to upgrade from PS3 to PS4.

Closest ground to me, a mere 16miles up the A34 and I drive past it every working day and the Stokies today consider it a very winnable tie. However, the wife and I are in Dorset cycling that mid-week without the kids. My nipper will be in the home end if Corky can't take him.

Tadic moves the ball quickly and plays at a high tempo. Lallana, for all his undoubted skill, I feel, slowed games down at times. This, however, may be to do with the way the teams are set up but I will add that I feel Tadic is a better player but Lallana's close control was wonderful to watch.
