Whilst I'm in total agreement we are unlikely to find a ball playing, 50yds to feet, CB in the third tier of English football and therefore I'll happily settle for hoofing it away from danger! If they could get the ball under control, make space for themselves and then drop it 50yds over the full back they wouldn't be playing L1 football!

Since we have professional photographers and sports journalists commenting on this thread forgive me if I consider them more knowledgeable. In addition, we often had photos from AP being put up by .comsaint during matches. The club can hardly be controlling them!

As I said early in the thread it is insane for a divison 3 club to take on the press like this. They don't need pictures of SFC as most of them couldn't care less about us. It's a battle I don't see how we can win and one that will not make a single penny. The club lose and the readers of The Echo lose.

Yes, I do. The money involved is peanuts but in this country we have a rich tradition of sports photo journalism and the idea that a club selects what photos that newspapers, even ones as odious as The Sun, use is, IMHO, wrong.

Some selective memories going on here. I can clearly remember choruses of "what a load of rubbish" ringing around The Dell as a nipper / teenager / young man. All I ever want from my team is effort. I'll forgive lack of ability and losing if the players make the effort, which isn't to much to ask. "Support" is a two way street and many a time our support has been let down by lack of effort/commitment by the players (Blackburn away in the relegation season springs readily to mind, not to mention fratton park) so it's no wonder so many are cynical.

He's a no nonsense CB and come with winter months, that's just what we'll need. He's not in the same class as Fonte but we need brawn as well as brains in this league IMHO. RJ looked two stone too heavy on Saturday and has the turning circle of a supertanker!

You do understand we are in division 3 don't you?

Just use Airsure and jobs a good un. The only Western European country with genuine issues is Italy but ISF usually solves that problem.
