Please explain who that quote supports your claim that all 90 arrests were of the EDL when West Mids police themselves stated that over half were local asian youths? Oh, it doesn't. There is nothing odd about my posts at all. If you read back you'll see that they are balanced and fair, more than can be said for yours. At no stage have I said I support an organisation that could be manipulated by the neo-nazis but I do support their message of combating Islamic extremeism. I just happen to believe that the fight against Islamic extremeism has many stands, I prefer the education approach and lifting people out of poverty. I really couldn't give two hoots what you believe, but as I work in community learning in the Black Country I'll let you make your own mind up what my client base is. You're also assuming that I must be white and christian.

I'm still waiting to hear about all these attacks on innocent asians by the EDL. I'm sure there must be plenty of evidence out there? I'm off to teach an adult numeracy class to 15 muslim women at a Black Country Muslim Centre and I've a meeting with the Imman and mosque elders after friday prayers to organise some more outreach classes, so it would be nice to see the links to these attacks by the time I get home this evening.

That is total and utter fabriction. Over half of thos arrested came from the asian population and as the Chief Superintendent of WM police said on radio WM, the expected follow up arrests would mainly be from the asian population. Your rants are so skewered by hatred that it's laughable. Really looks as if the lads were innocent doesn't it? You're obviously an educated man so you really should stop making things up.
-
Fair points raised and the bold bit should be read by those whose bias is so skewered, for whatever reasons, fair or foul, that they cannot see it themselves.

I think it may be to do with the skates, banging on for decades, about what fantatic support they have and how they'd pack out grounds, sleeping giants etc...... The proof of the pudding is that in a small ground they struggle to sell out and end up giving them away to kids. Maybe that should just accept the stark reality that they are just a middle sized provincial club and that no one outside of Hampshire gives a fat rat's arse about them.

My 7yo lad and I will be travelling up.

No you haven't. Would you, or any other poster for that matter, care to point out at racisim in this thread? You can't because there is none in it. There is misinformation and in Jeff Leopards case, signs of mental illness, but no racisim.
-
I'll think you'll find that the retarded Tiggs Theo is on another of this retarded wind ups. He usually sticks to kiddies corner.
-
Would you care to point out a single racist post on this thread. Misinformed maybe, but I don't see racisim.
-
I disagree. I don't think the majority believe the EDL to be cowardly, racist thugs. I think the majority think it's about time "someone" spoke out/stood up and said something about Islamic extremism, but I do work in the Black Country and live in rural Staffordshire so the views around here will be different to those in Soton I imagine. Folk may not like the messenger but the message certainly resonates with many and pretending it's not true isn't going to change that. Having spent the morning teaching numeracy to a group of Muslim women, who have piled me with edible Eid goodies, I wish everyone could just get along.

That's just what we said on Saturday. He' what we've been missing for years.

As your record regarding being right about the takeover thus far has been perfect, never a single thing wrong, I'm sure you can supply evidence to back this up as all we've seen is the quotes regarding securing finance "in principal".

So, opposing Islamic neo-fascist, neo-nazi scum makes you neo-fascist, neo-nazi scum does it? I, for one, believe that confronting Islamic neo-fascism is the duty of every right minded member of our society. I don't believe in the "Fighting fire with foire approach" but I do understand why people have reached that point. I prefer the "education brings empowerment" approach myself as I believe real change can only come from within the very diverse Muslim community.
-
If the message is that extremeist Islam should be challenged at every turn then great. If the message is if your Muslim/brown then you're not wanted then they can fu ck right off. It should also be remembered that some of the founding members are of mixed race and that the majority of members in the Black Country are Sikh! Either way I'm off to an Eid do on Monday and I'm really looking forward to it (although the grub is better at Diwali).
-
Perfectly put. There isn't one post on here that slates Islam or asians but there are many small minded people on here that assume that if you are against extremist Islam in the UK you must hate everyone who is non white and be a neo-fascist. I think it shows how ignorant some are and how blinkered to reality many are. Robsk makes valid points about education and poverty and I'm proud to be involved in a organisation what works with and within ethnic minority groups to raise educational achievement and improve their chances. I do this with Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs and I'm looking forward to all the food goodies that Eid brings.

Why do you assume that it has to be about race? The Shoe Bomber and Exeter Bomber were white, but still extremests. At Alexandra High School in Tipton there have been full blown race fights, fuelled by comments made to pupils whose brothers/fathers are/have been serving in Afganistan about hoping that they come back in body bags. http://www.expressandstar.com/2009/09/18/pupils-are-suspended-after-fights-near-school/ Previously Muslim parents had asked the authorities, and the West Mids police to take action against the extremeists who were targeting schoolkids. I visit one of the local mosques after prayers on Fridays as part of my job and ordinary Muslims are scared, but not of the Far Right Brits, but of the Far Right Muslims. They fear of being tarred with the same brush as the "Taliban" and of speaking out against them. What I do find ning boggling ist sot some on here seem to think Neo-Fascist Isla thn the streets = free speech but scream like hysterical children when their opponents take to the streets. I happen to agree that the far right are playing into the hands of the far right Islamists but to dismiss, out out of hand, the concerns of a large swathe of the population of these isles is ignorant and best and suggests a closed mind.
-
Those shouting "racist" on this thread normally do if anyone dares question race relations in the UK. They cannot accept or understand that it can be non-white members of our community that are actually as fascist and guilty of stirring up racial hatred and tension as the neo-fascists of the BNP. All are equally guilty and equally odious.
-
Why? It has nothing to do with race or religion. It's not anti-Islam, it's anti-Islamic extremisim, and there is a very big difference. I work in the heart of Black Country, where Muslim, Hindu, Sikh etc live and work together peacefully and I do not want extemists destroying that harmony, but the Islamic extremists try. The local secondary school currently has police on duty outside the gates and around the area to stop extemeists handing out leaflets to the Muslim schoolkids and beratting those walking home with white kids. The police are there as a reponse to complaints by Muslim parents, scared that their kids are being targeted are corrupted. Bloody sad IMHO.
-
It was on Radio WM the following Monday that WM police arrested more Muslim youths and charged them with more serious offences and expected the follow up arrests to also come from that community. Of course, the press had only reported on the EDL protestors than had been arrested. The fact that some of the founding members are of mixed race, as were some of those in Brum, should show that it's not against Islam or immigration, just set four square against Islamic extremimism in the UK and the fact that those extremists are allowed to peddle their warped beliefs on our streets. As long as they remain only oppossed to Islamic extremisim in the UK I will support them.
-
They are to expensive if you are a non season ticket holder and it does put off the walk up, but, if we win games.............
-
We will **** Yeovil and be up and running, of that I'm sure.
-
So let's get this right. Our South Coast mega European giant neighbours, who are on the verge of signing half of the Argie national team to play alongside the goalscoring legend, Danny Webber, gave 1000 tickets away, charged kids for a quid, managed a crowd of 17500? I can see why Barca are quaking in their boots.
-
I would have settled for a point before KO. I'm very confident that we'll hammer Yeovil next week and I'll season will be up and running.
-
Nowt will happen. Police will take no action what so ever.
