  1. Exactly. Writing off many of our players because they haven't proven themselves in the prem is unfair if they haven't been given much or any chance to perform there in a settled team under our system.
  2. You've got no idea how some of these players will perform in the premier league. It's also nowhere near the end of the window.
  3. I'd prefer Miovski if we are spending 6 million. Hopefully if we do sign ings he's just a backup option and we get another in. I'd be happy to have him as an option.
  4. The reason is because the debate performance was so awful that no one could put a brave face on it anymore.
  5. Why would he pull out having just given an interview saying he definitely won't? Short of some diagnosis of some kind it doesn't look like he's going which is mental really.
  6. I don't think you'd find a single England fan that doesn't think we should less defensively.
  7. Some flexibility would be nice. Certainly no need at all to be so defensive in the group games at least. We need pacy wide men to assist an older kane so I'd be playing both Gordon and Palmer and I'd replace saka who has had a poor tournament. I'd consider dropping foden if it isn't working or change it up between him and Bellingham. The pressing thing he's got completely wrong, I'd probably see if we can get some fun and expressiveness back into the football. I'd have taken someone like Grealish because he has some spark and x factor which Southgate hates.
  8. Ronaldo put his own ego before the good of the country. He's very selfish.
  9. It's not in Southgate's personality. His style is actually rather effective at progressing in tournaments it's just there's a real sense that we could do more and be more with the players we have.
  10. Playing terrible boring football is only mildly acceptable if you actually win the tournament. It's very likely that England will get defeated if not today then before winning the tournament then the question to ask Southgate is what was the point of playing such shit football? If you go out either way, I'd rather go out showing what we are capable of and playing to our strengths. This timid, safe style just makes us look like neanderthals.
  11. Supposedly Brentford were interested last year and he was valued around 14 million. Not sure how true that is.
  12. Hmm. Doesn't sound great. Hopefully just one for the future.
  13. It may be the case that Lallana doesn't play much so not sure if he counts. The Burnley left back seems more than capable of performing in the prem and Edwards could do as well. THB is good enough for the prem so the only ones with question marks are Woods (who will most likely be a backup) and the resigning of McCarthy which admittedly is pretty crap if he's first choice.
  14. Of course it is. The time to criticise the club for their overall transfer policy is at the conclusion of the window. In isolation these individual purchases and sales is decent business. You can't criticise the club for not getting any big name or ambitious signings in yet when that's clearly their intention. If they fail to get in a good AM striker and winger then I'll speak up and call it underwhelming but not before.
  15. Ha so true. I'd consider winding up Austin to be a badge of honour.
  16. Blimey that's some negotiation if true.
  17. I think I read he was injured for some of the season. Maybe not fully fit?
  18. If wood and Edwards were 6 million, we've effectively got them for 2 million with Lyanco's fee. Brilliant business even if they aren't as good as hoped.
  19. Any idea what Wellington is like? Didn't there used to be someone with a Saints blog who would go and interview fans of the teams we bought players from?
  20. He will be talking about the far right almost every moment of the next 4 years. It's an absolute obsession.
  21. Would be a very positive sign if they do get rid. Shows they can be ruthless.
  22. Manning and Larios off?
  23. If anything, sneering and belittling people who vote differently to you is likely to make them want to vote for parties like reform even more. It's why I've never understood some of the commentary around it.
  24. Bit of a random one.
  25. Lammy as foreign secretary. Finally Starmer is showing us he has a sense of humour.
