Very much doubt it is radically different from running any other football fan forum.

How do other fans forums cope?
-
TBH I don't care what people think of me on here. 90% of the time I am having a laugh and use this as a distraction. Very rarely do I actually get personally abusive towards people and it's quite amusing to watch the same few posters falling over themselves to swear or throw insults in my direction purely because their views differ to mine.
-
Yes I really do think there would be a number of people willing to do it. I know this because a forum very similar to this would be set up should this one be wound up. It is also likely that it would be half decent because almost every half decent sized club has a good fans forum.

Really? I agree with you, Countdown to ecstasy is the best. Has some cracking tunes.
-
Erm I only have your word that that isnt true. There is a sense of superiority you get from being the admin of the 'largest saints forum'. Ask the mods why they applied for their jobs on here. Of course it isn't all fun and games but to pretend it is entirely selfless is just lying to yourself. Now you are just trying to bring other issues into it (where have I ever said you cannot moan? Or that people losing their jobs shouldn't moan?) Your online persona sir always have been and always will be arrogant, patronising, vindictive and aggressive and I mean that in both an insulting and an observational sense. I would hope that you are not like that in real life but sadly Barrie from some of the things I have heard it seems you can be.

No one else was asked.

Adkins: "There is scope to dip into the loan market"
hypochondriac replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Cant say I agree there. -
Keith stuck around for years. Even when someone cut his phone line. Thanks for replying sensibly by the way and not just resorting to the usual senseless insults.
-
And so don't try to pretend you are some sort of selfless martyr doing everything for no reward. There must be some benefits if so many are willing to do it.
-
He is a legend. You cant say people wouldnt be doing what he is doing if they were in his position. It's amusing.
-
So do you or do you not think there would be a queue of people willing to fill your shoes if you decided to step down and advertised on here?
-
You don't know me and I did ask to leave it but you continued so don't talk to me about being dull. Seriously do you not think that a similar version of this forum would not spring up in the next few days if this was shut down permanently tonight? And do you not think there would be a queue of people willing to do the job that you do? Why do you think that is if it such a thankless and horrible task?
-
Way to take a comment totally out of context.
-
I notice you didn't comment on the satisfaction derived from abusing your power. It must be that which makes it worthwhile.
-
Well obviously I won't know everything but 'status' is one. Your comments will automatically be seen to hold more weight purely because of you being the admin. Would no doubt help with your job as experience as well. I imagine that admin like Steve wouldn't have been able to get as much 'inside info' than he has done if he hadn't been in charge of this site. I am aware that this is largely down to who you know but the forum will no doubt have played a large part in facilitating that. You are also able to abuse your position and be totally uneven about what you decide to infract or not in secret. I imagine that would give certain admin an amount of satisfaction.
-
I am grateful for the service the forum provides. I'm also grateful to the time that some admin give selflessly to make the forum better. I'm not going to pretend though that the motives for running the forum are entirely selfless or that the forum wouldn't exist without them. This forum is one way to run a forum. The brighton fan highlighted how it could be run in a different way. Anyway that's enough now, lets hope this sorts the problem and the forum becomes usable again on matchdays.
-
Do you have selective eyesight? I thanked steve on more than one occasion.
-
Shame the same cannot be said for every admin.
-
When you get admin acting like bellends behind the PM system then it gets somewhat irksome. Anyway I have expressed my gratitude to Steve more than once.
-
No point as it would die a death due to this forum already being established. Should this one go down tomorrow though, that is exactly what would happen. To make out that something similar to this would not exist if this disappeared is not true.
-
Fact is if this forum were shut down tomorrow, another one (probably free) would be set up immediately and carry on in exactly the same way that this one sprang up after the demise of S4E. There is too much demand for that not to be the case. Having said that (and please listen carefully those who will only read from this post what they want to.) I am grateful to Steve for using his time to improve the site. Though I do not think the act of running the forum is entirely selfless or without reward, I am grateful to him for what part of it is selfless.
-
Did I not just express my thanks to Steve in the post?
-
That is completely untrue.
-
Perhaps if the forum were free then that would be the case. And yes that is a safe assumption going on the history of this site AND the fact that most major clubs have a half decent web forum.
