  1. I was just wondering if they had expanded on that point at the service. Unfortunately I couldn't elaborate on that because I was typing on my phone. Thanks Wes for the report.
  2. why did he only buy one?
  3. what was the watch story?
  4. thanks dps for answering my post without abuse. That's all I ever ask
  5. I think everyone is fully aware of our good fortune alps.
  6. Good reply and I think that too. I think if anything it highlights the need for some clarification on the ownership situation in the next couple of weeks. It would be good to know where we stand going forward.
  7. This.
  8. I think you have entirely missed my point.
  9. That's why a manager like him has the most respect from me. Hodgson, Poyet, Hiddink. All proper manager who don't spend a lot but get success through their own talent alone. Give me one of them over the stupid amounts spent by Redknapp any day.
  10. Our four best players are Lallana, Lambert, Fonte and Schneiderlin. With everyone fit would leave us a team of Davis Richardson Jaidi Seaborne Harding Puncheon Butterfield Hammond Dickson Connoly Barnard Oxlade-Chamberlin Bialkowski Martin Holmes Wotton Which whilst slightly weak in the middle, is still better than most teams in this league IMO. I'll say again, I think it is Pardew's tactics which give us some disappointing results and not the ability of the players themselves.
  11. I actually think Pardew is a poor manager tactically. Poyet has really impressed me, not just with his signings but with his tactics in a game. I think our problem is not the quality of our squad and backups, but learning to adapt when we have injuries etc.
  12. And on that point, once the memorial is over it would be good to hear a statement from whoever the new owner(s) are to clarify how things will be for the future. No specifics if they don't want but something from the OS rather than the Echo or another paper.
  13. Blackburn takeover looks pretty good, Man City are in a better state on the pitch since their takeover. QPR could go up this year finally, Leicester since their admin? Wolves? I'm sure there are plenty of examples. People takeover football clubs all the time. Sometimes things get worse and sometimes things get better. I definitely would not have swapped Markus when he was alive, but now he is dead the situation has been complicated somewhat. Perhaps he has this five year plan and then was going to look to sell. In which case, once we get to the prem, getting in an owner who has the motivation and finance to take us to "the next level" could be better than being owned by the family of our deceased former owner.
  14. Even if you are a labour supporter. why would you want the Tories to fail? That's what I never understand. People jump on any tiny mistake with glee as if it's the best thing in the world. What is wrong with wishing success on whichever party is in charge, because ultimately it benefits Britain.
  15. I could say the same thing about you and your tiresome assertion that I am a troll, despite having posted on here for a lot longer than you. On this issue, I am simply suggesting that selling could actually be a good thing for us. Most people talk as if us being sold would be an utter disaster when we don't know if it would be (and I suspect it would not be considering our financial health and the fact that Liebherr would not sell us to just anyone.) We have no actual FACTS on this issue but I am giving my comment on the original post. If we want to deal in FACTS then this messageboard would not be posted on at all. You seem to have difficulty accepting an opinion which runs contrary to your own. Please respect my right to an opinion as I respect yours.
  16. yep. Equally we could not though. We have no idea about the motivation of the new owners in the mid to long term. It COULD be better to sell. People like to concentrate on the negative but we can't say either way
  17. selling could well be better for us long term. I suppose we shall see
  18. Just because a sport is only taken seriously in America, does not mean that the winners of that sport are suddenly world champions. If I invented a sport which became popular in the UK and my team won, would I be "world champion" of it? Of course not.
  19. Oh right so we are now saying that the world champion comes from the league which is the highest standard? Many would say that is the Premiership for football. Does that make Chelsea the world champion of football?
  20. Oh and: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Blitz_(American_football) So you could argue they are also "world champions" but clearly they are not.
  21. Clue is in the title.
  22. Done really well IMO. The country is in good hands with the 2 working together.
  23. Fair play to him for doing it. Doesn't really matter why, a good charity gets a load of money.
  24. I think you are missing what nick is saying...
  25. I am a bit disappointed at our failure to act swiftly in the transfer market this year. Also sad that we did not sign Waigo and Antonio. Had we got those two, then we would have only needed cover for Rickie and we would be sorted. I like signing players we know because we already know that they can perform.
