  1. Way to take a comment totally out of context.
  2. I notice you didn't comment on the satisfaction derived from abusing your power. It must be that which makes it worthwhile.
  3. Well obviously I won't know everything but 'status' is one. Your comments will automatically be seen to hold more weight purely because of you being the admin. Would no doubt help with your job as experience as well. I imagine that admin like Steve wouldn't have been able to get as much 'inside info' than he has done if he hadn't been in charge of this site. I am aware that this is largely down to who you know but the forum will no doubt have played a large part in facilitating that. You are also able to abuse your position and be totally uneven about what you decide to infract or not in secret. I imagine that would give certain admin an amount of satisfaction.
  4. I am grateful for the service the forum provides. I'm also grateful to the time that some admin give selflessly to make the forum better. I'm not going to pretend though that the motives for running the forum are entirely selfless or that the forum wouldn't exist without them. This forum is one way to run a forum. The brighton fan highlighted how it could be run in a different way. Anyway that's enough now, lets hope this sorts the problem and the forum becomes usable again on matchdays.
  5. Do you have selective eyesight? I thanked steve on more than one occasion.
  6. Shame the same cannot be said for every admin.
  7. When you get admin acting like bellends behind the PM system then it gets somewhat irksome. Anyway I have expressed my gratitude to Steve more than once.
  8. No point as it would die a death due to this forum already being established. Should this one go down tomorrow though, that is exactly what would happen. To make out that something similar to this would not exist if this disappeared is not true.
  9. Fact is if this forum were shut down tomorrow, another one (probably free) would be set up immediately and carry on in exactly the same way that this one sprang up after the demise of S4E. There is too much demand for that not to be the case. Having said that (and please listen carefully those who will only read from this post what they want to.) I am grateful to Steve for using his time to improve the site. Though I do not think the act of running the forum is entirely selfless or without reward, I am grateful to him for what part of it is selfless.
  10. Did I not just express my thanks to Steve in the post?
  11. That is completely untrue.
  12. Perhaps if the forum were free then that would be the case. And yes that is a safe assumption going on the history of this site AND the fact that most major clubs have a half decent web forum.
  13. Didn't imagine it would take long for you to pop up. At what point did I say you got any monetary gain from doing this? Why do you even bother then if you hate doing it so much? Whatever gains you receive must outweigh the desire not to bother or you wouldn't be here.
  14. Hey I'm glad this place exists but I'm sure the admin have their reasons for doing it and it has its rewards. I'm also sure there would be a ton of people willing to step into their shoes should they want to leave.
  15. Last I heard he disappeared off to do some plumbing and we never saw him again.
  16. Not really. I pay a fiver for it after all and there were people running this forum before these guys. I am grateful to Steve as I said. He seems like a fair and friendly chap.
  17. TBH if they werent here then someone else would be running it. Grateful to Steve though, he always seems and even handed and fair chap.
  18. No it isn't. Well done on doing something. Lets hope it sorts it.
  19. No idea. I have no idea why squash isn't more popular though. It's a much better game to play then tennis for example. Even with a novice playing squash you can have a semi competitive game and it's easy to pick up.
  20. It's all about them not going up this year. Should they stay down then a good few years of belt tightening should see their squad quality decline and a slow fall down the leagues.
  21. That isn't really the point. You can adequately provide the current service for free using alternative sources of income. Limiting people to three posts a day stifles debate (this place is noticeably quieter than S4E days in terms of the number of posters) and probably puts some people off registering and using it regularly. I mostly enjoy posting on here but I do resent it a bit that I have to pay a fiver a year to do something which for a number of years was a free service.
  22. I play at St Marys. Absolute dive but you only need a court so it is passable.
  23. Just because it is something we have never been does not make it better or any easier to accept this season. Especially with the finance and money spent. Last season we had excuses, this year there are none.
  24. And for the record, I am for the team playing to their potential consistently. I am for bringing players in which add to the team and helps them progress. I am for the manager making meaningful changes which help to change the tide of the game. I am for performances like Oldham and even poorer performances which help is grind out a good result. I am for results like Brighton at home where we fought to gain a tough point, so don't try and presume you know what I am for and against why regards to saints.
