I'm not replying to you anymore after this. To most people who are not mentally challenged, it is quite obvious what I am saying. Clearly I can only give my view on a player based upon what I have seen and what others who have seen more of him tell me. My INITIAL disappointment is just that, initial. He may turn out to be fantastic for us and I truly hope he does. The available evidence suggests that he is poorer than other targets we have been linked with and so I am underwhelmed. You may not feel the same way and that is entirely your choice. At no point am I writing the player off, nor do I have any desire to see him do badly. On the contrary I want him to do really well. Now is that really terribly difficult to comprehend?

Thank you. It's not about me being "negative" (jesus I was slated by Duncan a few weeks back for being deluded and happy clappy!). All I'm doing is expressing my opinion and I'm not sure he is much better than what we currently have. Fonte is probably a fantastic signing and clearly quite a bit better than what we have. Not so sure about this one.

Sigh. NO ONE IS PASSING JUDGEMENT ON HIM. People are giving their INITIAL reaction to a signing based on the evidence available. I was excited when we signed Skacel, he didn't do great. I was underwhelmed when we got Ryan Smith, I was proven correct. Can you appreciate the difference between saying "this player is rubbish" and "this player appears to be below the quality of some of the players we have been linked with?"

At no point have I suggested that people cannot hold a different opinion to myself. You are the one who seems to have a problem with me expressing my disappointment. If you would read my earlier reply I have said he might turn out to be really good and I hope he does. The only thing I can currently go on is the available evidence.
