Putting it another way, I am something of an expert on poor keepers given what we've had to work with over the last few seasons so I can say with confidence that Ramsdale is not one!

I know and I said as much on the previous page. He's clearly a pre ie league standard keeper, it's just that most prem clubs have keepers as good ad they don't need one that they want to spend that amount on.

You were told by someone else that "the rest was lacking?" I don't need someone else to tell me, I watched almost every game last season and I could see he was a decent keeper.

Just because 17 prem teams all have a decent keeper does not necessarily mean that Ramsdale isn't just as good as them.

I didn't say it was but it is a factor.

Not for me. He was decent and not at fault for our losses. In fact, his saves won us the Everton game.

My only real issue is giving him a three year contract. If we had to give him an extension then I'd have given him till 2027.

If the opposing manager has no championship experience either then possibly yes.

Zero experience in the championship is the point. I think he will do well for us but it wouldn't surprise me if he takes a few games to find his feet in a new league.

That wouldn't surprise me. Would just be a bit of a shame though because that probably means we're cashing in other assets. I'd probably take keeping Fernandes and Dibling if we just lose Ramsdale and THB.

Absolutely fine with all that. Worth remembering as well that our defence last time we were in this division was pretty crap. I'd love us to have a really solid defensive line this year, possibly more than scoring a ton.

Meh about THB we have so many centre backs that someone has to go and he's our most valuable defensive asset. Downes I agree that's a big loss if he goes.

Seems an odd statement to make then. Alfie seems to think that recent injuries could have meant we ended up taking more players. Possibly THB and Downes being injured mean we take Aribo and one of the cbs?

Yes but I don't think they named kelvin as club captain until he wasn't playing much. I doubt the fact he is captain will mean he gets on the pitch if he's shite.
