  1. Yes I did see it and yes I agree with you which is why I thought maybe I am being a bit unfair. It's just my perception, he's clearly a clever bloke with a much greater awareness of his own pr compared to someone like Nathan Jones who was very authentic even if he was a twat.
  2. I get the feeling that for Martin it's his playing philosophy that is important and that the club he does it at isn't really important beyond providing him with the necessary resources. Adkins and to a lesser extent Ralph always seemed quite proud to be here. I suppose you could say the same thing about poch and Koeman and we were great under them.
  3. I am very pleased with Martin and I am starting to like him a fair bit, but I don't have the real love I had for Adkins for example. I think it's because I felt that Adkins loved us whereas I think Martin is playing a part and would be acting similarly no matter what club he was at. I think the mask slipped a little a few weeks back when he was a twat to Blackmore. Maybe I'm being harsh but I don't feel the same sense of genuine affection from him that I felt for Adkins and even to some extent Ralph. I suppose it may come in time.
  4. Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of our run of results is how almost every member of our squad is participating. Aribo and Bree weren't even considered at the start of it, Alcaraz, Edozie, Sulemana, Stephens, Fraser, Smallbone and Mara have been in and out of the team either through injury or because someone else was performing in their place. You can tell Martin has had to manage a team in this league before but it is now difficult to pick our best first eleven which is a good sign.
  5. Almost certainly true but it's not insurmountable at this point. If they suffered an injury crisis combined with losing players for the AFCON then you never know.
  6. Well that was the most enjoyable time I've had at St Mary's for at least three years so thanks Martin for that if nothing else
  7. Merry Christmas to you all. Even the small minority of bellends on here deserve a merry Christmas.
  8. Odd stance. The club should have bought or loaned a player capable of significant contributions. It's not for the individual fan to make that call, it's the club that needs to make better choices.
  9. No matter the result in the Leeds Ipswich game, if we win today then any result could be a decent one. We either move above Leeds for the first time in ages or we make up ground on Ipswich.
  10. Given this news on Stewart, I think I've changed my mind on ings now. Fine to get him in to supplement what we have but we can't really be relying on him as a regular striker. I suppose if we get this goalscoring winger in that it might be OK but otherwise I'd look elsewhere.
  11. Seems particularly odd that Martin is bemoaning the fact he didn't get a full preseason and suggesting he may need to have one before playing again when he knew the situation when we signed him. Fair enough if we'd bought him in as a gamble to be in the squad but a striker was probably our key signing for the summer. We are incredibly fortunate that Armstrong has proven he can still perform in this league because if he hadn't then we would be utterly screwed.
  12. What are you suggesting? That it's something to do with the original injury?
  13. Yep. Would be lovely to win tomorrow even if it's difficult. Would really cement us in the playoffs.
  14. And particularly when the injury he has is notoriously difficult to recover from and often results in reoccurance. Five minutes on Google showed that when he signed.
  15. The loss is not having a striker in the squad to make a difference turning losses into draws and draws into wins.
  16. Well we can say for certain now that this was a fucking stupid signing and it will be a big reason we don't get promoted if that does come to pass. Well done saints you twats spunking a load of our budget on a massive unnecessary risk.
  17. If he was an evil genius like some Democrats believe, then surely the Democrats should have no problem with beating him and should let the people decide. Seems to me that they are very scared he might actually win which would have Trump in power for 4 years but also embarrass the Democrats if they can't even beat him.
  18. That entire thing was ridiculous. On one side republicans are saying it's a steal and fake and the other they are acting like Trump stormed the white house and they are having memorials for January the 6th like it's 9/11. The truth is somewhere in between but I haven't seen any convincing evidence that he orchestrated any attempt to overthrow the result. If enough people believe that narrative then there should be no problem putting his name on the ballot and letting the people decide who should be in charge. You've got partisans on both sides doing things that I think are very harmful to democracy. I miss the 90s and earlier when you could get bipartisan cooperation regardless of political difference.
  19. Yeah I know the reason it's an idiotic one. The fact he is favourite to win speaks more to the lack of serious and inspiring politicians in America. Not too different from this country to be honest. I would never want Corbyn in charge of this country but I'd be outraged if he was barred from standing.
  20. It's stupid. Just let candidates on the ballot and let the people decide who they want. The other side are now calling for Republican states to kick Biden off the ballot.
  21. From what I read, it seems likely to be overturned at the supreme court. Not entirely sure of the details, but you would think that trying to prevent the American public from voting for someone is likely to backfire.
  22. I find it odd that some consider this rumour to be so laughably unlikely. I totally understand why someone would think it's not going to happen, but it's not something absurd or anything.
  23. Let's be honest it's pretty hard to tell isn't it. Armstrong looked turd in the prem but is doing a job in the league below.
  24. Thanks pal. Great talking to you.
  25. I don't think any championship team will offer him 100k a week. Far more likely to come on loan with his wages subsidised. That being the case, I'd say we had as much of a chance as someone like Leeds, probably mire give his links here. This may all be moot of course as we may not want him but it's not as outlandish an idea as you claim. Circumstances are very different from 3 years ago as I outlined.
