I'm genuinely chuffed we won and pleased for Martin who I think is a good man. Let's not though pretend that this is Martin's system coming good. This was largely abandoning the system and doing something that can actually win football matches. I hope Martin doesn't try and gaslight the fans by saying that his system is now working.

Don't want to jinx it but looking good so far...

I think it would be easier to swallow a loss today if we saw a bit of what you mention and signs that things will be turned around. If we lose narrowly but give Leeds multiple opportunities to score a hatful, look terrible without the ball and just as leaky and error prone at the back, then the fear is that we have settled into a rut with no sign of things getting better. I'll feel better about things if we show aggression, look more organised and solid and create some chances even if we end up losing.

If we lose again tomorrow, I want to see some of these youngsters given a chance. The likes of @Lighthousemight dismiss the notion, but they should be given opportunities given that many in the current team are proven failures.

Wade Garrett seems to be saying that not starting his best players is somehow something to do with Martin not showing full commitment. My point is him being rubbish at choosing the team has nothing to do with a lack of commitment.
-
Really depressing that Ameyew has been dumped. He looked great in the first few games off the bench.
-
Starting players that most of us wouldn't start isn't indicative of a lack of commitment.

Russell Martin in today's press conference: "there hasn't been much in the games" Does he mean Sunderland? Leicester? Middlesborough where they could have scored 4? A few weeks ago he was talking complete sense in these interviews, now he sounds ridiculous.
-
That's a bit unfair. I don't think you can question his commitment, he seems like an incredibly hard worker. The philosophy is the flawed bit.
-
Let's imagine he goes after a while and gets another job in the championship. A few weeks later if we are due to play his team would you be happy to have that fixture coming up? I know I would because it woikd be incredibly obvious how they would play and how we could get a result against them. Thays the biggest problem for me.

We need Richard Chorley and his thirty pieces of silver.

Asked my brother in law about this who used to be a footballer "We used to have this all the time. We had the laces and a top one year. All the lads took the piss in the changing room but it's easier just to wear it and get it over with. No one wanted the hassle of making a fuss but guarantee they'll be grumbling about it behind the scenes."

Agreed as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of others. Not sure what any of that has to do with all these extra colours though. I thought the point of the rainbow was to represent everyone because it is all the colours that make up the rainbow. What's the purpose of all the new colours?
-
Interesting. Any specific sort of progress or just progress in general?
-
I can see the original pride rainbow flag colours and then there's a whole bunch of other colours that I am not familiar with. Could someone explain what they represent please?
-
I hope you'll be wearing your copy with pride on Saturday. I'd expect nothing less.

For too long, gay and trans individuals with poor fashion sense have had to attend games feeling like they have to conform to outdated concepts like style or taste. Finally the club have listened and shifted the paradigm.

I assume next year we will lose: THB Downes KWP Adams S.Armstrong Holgate Fraser Alcaraz Sulemana Aribo So that could potentially leave us with a team of: Bazunu Bree Stephens Bednarek Manning/Larios Charles Edozie Dibling Ameyew Stewart Ballard Obviously we will make some further signings but if we do have something like that, we absolutely need to play in a more pragmatic fashion with more limited players.
-
Wilcox seemed (seems?) like a good appointment but he's another one appointed by Ankerson who so far has a track record entirely of failure.
-
The sale of the players was not the issue, not bringing in replacements earlier and as permanent signings is an issue (something that the club admits in the Athletic today they should have done.)
-
Yes and it's not the losses so much as the manner of them. Middlesbrough could have scored 4 or 5, Sunderland could have got more than the 5 they did get, Leicester probably should have been more with only Ipswich being a fair reflection score wise and even that had then hitting the bar and us offering nothing up the other end.

Great spot and there I am on page 2 being pissed off like I said. He really shoved it down everyone's throats.
-
I was massively annoyed. The point is the knives woukd have been out for poch if he hasn't succeeded and shown how good he was straight away and he did! Koeman also showed how good he was almost straight away. It's normally quite clear if a manager is going to succeed or not. Maybe Martin will go against the grain and end up being a success? If he is going to do that (and I would like him to as he seems like a good bloke) the he will need to turn it round in the next three or four games or the situation will become unsalvagable.
-
His appointment was universally disliked. Coukd have phrased it better. I don't remember any support for sacking adkins and appointing poch.

I thought the table was measuring a disciplinary record? Since it was overturned it shouldn't count towards that.
