Although it's sad to lose him, we didn't actually need him like we do some of the others. Very likely IMO he would have gone next year even if we had gone up so not a huge loss. Lots of other players I'd rather keep given the choice.
-
Agreed. A bit like umpires call in cricket. If it's really tight then you stick with the decision on the field which has the added bonus of not undermining the referee and giving more confidence to use his judgement rather than just letting play continue all the time and then using VAR as a crutch.

I'd love it if we rejected it again!
-
I think most people would be resigned if he went to Spurs. It's a clear step up and we may have struggled to keep him even if we'd stayed up. Just such a shame to lose him when he would be incredible at this level.
-
Here's a good clue. He has been the Co-commentator on bbc radio Devon. Lets leave it there as its quite off topic.
-
That's actually a cracking guess and very close but he never played for Bournemouth and certainly not 5 foot 10. Not going to reply now though in case you get it!
-
Spurs it is then.
-
Not that good (or tall!)never played for the first team but a decent lower league player. Still mates with some of the Bournemouth players and has a few stories to tell.
-
Correct. If I see a meteorite hit someone, does that make it more likely that I will see that again any time soon?
-
Well he's fallen upwards!
-
My brother in law is an ex spurs player. Really don't want them to sign jwp...
-
So bad I posted it twice!
-
Crap. If true that changes things...
-
If true then surely that refutes any idea that we are desperate for money? Turning down 45 million is audacious and unprecedented for a team in the championship.
-
Quite a split opinion on this one!
-
Our financial situation clearly is not anywhere near as dire as it has been in the past. We appear to be selling players on our terms and we don't seem to be under any financial pressure to sell. We have a lot of high value assets that everyone in the championship will kill for and clearly we are going to sell some of them. That's very different to it being a requirement that we have to sell or we will be in financial trouble. The club have said publically that we don't have financial difficulties and our actions so far have backed that up.
-
If we needed money then we wouldn't be turning down bids of 40 million for Lavia and risking him not being sold. We'd take the money.
-
I can't see us accepting a bid right at the end of the window unless he puts in a transfer request or something.
-
I don't think there's any evidence that we have to sell a lot of players to survive. If that were the case we wouldn't be actively turning reasonable bids down. Lavia would have gone already for a start.
-
I don't know. I can see the attraction but I don't see West ham as particularly likely to win anything. As an example, Mark noble stayed for West Ham when they went down and is now a local hero.
-
I do think jwp will leave and there is a part of me - however irrational it is- that will be a bit miffed at him. If he stays and we go up this year that just burnishes his reputation and makes him more of a legend. If he goes now he just becomes like many other players who were great. He could take a small risk this year and reap the rewards in years to come. I know what I'd do bit I'm biased!
-
Probably. Would still be good to have the three though as kwp can play on either flank.
-
I know it's unlikely but imagine full backs as Manning, kwp, Aarons and Perraud. That would be incredible.
-
Leicester will be contenders this year for sure. Pretty dodgy at the back but excellent attacking options.
-
Good goal from Leicester. Their attacking options are impressive.
