Leaving thousands of people who would otherwise have left safely at the mercy of the Taliban is the issue. A scramble to remove American and British nationals is a shameful embarrassment not to mention Afghani allies.

I didn't mention anything about why they were left, I was simply saying how awful it looks. Pictures beamed around the world of the Taliban in position of all this US military hardware looks terrible no matter what the reason for it being left. To leave in the manner that they did is an awful strategic error that was a huge mistake.

Indeed. The problem isn't that they left its that they did it and then had no idea that everything would fall apart so quickly. It's a giant intelligence failure and it will cost many many lives. The sight of planes and weapons marked with US on them being stolen and used by the Taliban is nauseating. The people responsible should be ashamed.

Not sure how you can call something terrorism if we don't know if the act itself was to further a political ideology. As someone else said, it sounds like he had a barney with his mum. You've said yourself you don't know if the act itself was political. It's rather like if a committed islamist got angry and killed someone it wouldn't necessarily be an act of terrorism.

I haven't seen evidence that this violence was in pursuit of political aims which is the definition of a terrorist. It seems on the face of it that it was just lashingnoutnwoth general anger at the world and those close to him.

TBF though I don't think it's helpful to expand the definition of terrorist either. Its debatable in this case I reckon.

I think I could handle things better if we were just shite. What's so infuriating is that we obviously have a bit about us when we play a bit of football and look dangerous. It makes it so much more disappointing when we inevitably toss it away by refusing to adapt during a game and allowing another team to get on top and see things out. Without ings to grab a game by the scruff of the neck I fear for us. Experience at the back or the middle of the park badly needed to avoid relegation imo.

Well he's got what he wanted hasn't he. No doubt he will be back on saying it was all a big joke but as someone with a young child myself I don't find making light of this situation particularly big or clever. He's a sad and pathetic old man living in his 99% white leafy neighbourhood, getting his hair cut by Muhammed, his shoes shined by Raheem and thinking he can lecture everyone else about the correct way to live and what is morally acceptable.
