Personally I think it's quite likely that January signings won't make enough of a difference but if we are really going to give it a go then I'd really like to see us go for two strikers-one older and experienced with presence and most of our budget on as good quality a striker as we can afford. We obviously need something more at cm and we need an attacking midfielder and possibly a winger. It seems we want something else in defence but I assume that's a Salisu replacement. So really if we do actually want to give it a good go and maybe actually stay up then that's five or maybe even six players required. I don't think we will get anywhere near that amount but that's what it would take imo.

If we get humped at Fulham and then against forest I'd be interested to see what they do. Probably nothing.

Aribo another horrific car crash of a signing. Just terrible. -
Rate Saints business in the Summer 2022 Transfer Window

The window was awful because the absolutely crucial signing we needed we didn't get. I said as much at the time. Also signing Bazunu was idiotic considering the keepers that were available. Building the team around an inexperienced young keeper is an awful idea. -
Exactly which is why we shouldn't have appointed Nathan Jones.
-
Was lavia our worst signing of the season? Never plays and it seems like our entire transfer strategy in the summer hinged on him being great every week.
-
We actually deserved to lose by more.
-
The point is its not a typical period where he's had two games. He's had weeks working with these players and not a single one of them looks better than they were before.
-
There's not really an excuse for not playing Stuart Armstrong and Bella Kotchap at the very least. I can see the logic in playing Diallo so I can't really blame the manager for that decision but the rest has been bizarre.
-
The time to appoint that type of manager was in the summer.
-
The man who had significant success for a number of seasons with Burnley prior to relegation.

That was quite a bit worse than I expected and my expectations were low. Feels like we've rolled the dice with this manager and it hasn't worked. I do wonder what made them go for him. I wonder at what point we'll start preparing for promotion next year instead. Lose the next few and it will be soon.
-
Should have appointed Dyche tbh till the summer.
-
Possibly the worst first half of the year.
-
Edozie looks lively so that's a good decision to play him. Lots of other questionable choices here.

I think if I'm honest I would have quite liked a progressive continental approach. My concern with this manager is that he's a bit lower league and basic with hoof ball and unrefined tactics. The start of this game and the last game is confirming that fear so far. I've yet to see any substantial positives and we simply have to get some decent performances and wins in the next few games to give us something to hold onto for the transfer window and to avoid being cut adrift.
-
With ABK fit Lyanco should be nowhere near the team. Frankly bizarre choice.
-
I know this is really early days but performances like this after having so long to work with the players is really worrying. I said with this manager it would either be an inspired appointment or a disaster. Concerning stuff.

It's also hilarious how many on here were giving our summer window a 9 or a 10. We messed up horrifically by not bringing in a striker and this needs correcting first ASAP. It doesn't node well that Wolves have already moved to improve their squad before the window has even opened. I wish we would do the same. How much of a boost would it be for morale to know that we had a decent striker ready to go for next week? I'd go so far as to see that if we don't have one signed up before mid January then we become favourites for the drop.
-
It would be idiotic to expect relegation. If we win today its conceivable we will end the weekend out of the relegation zone so no relegation is not "likely" by any means. We have a chance to avoid it and need to take that chance by getting in the right players early in the next couple of weeks. Not sure we will though given how we messed up the previous window.
-
I think what I liked is that he was clear about what he wanted from them. Under Ralph near the end it didn't look like we knew what was required of us.
-
I think it could either be brilliant or if he's a flop, people are going to be quite quick to take the piss and he will have a whiff of Sturrock about him ie a British manager not cut out for the top flight. Could be great though I certainly hope so!

I want MLG back just for this.

Not sure the migrant workers who've died or had their passports stolen would agree with you.

I have to say I've quite enjoyed some of the football even if it's in a hell hole.
