  1. I was there last month and stayed just off Las ramblas. Sobering stuff and yet another terrorist attack. Something really needs to change.
  2. Here is what little star cloud will become in a few short years: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/news/article.cfm?c_id=6&objectid=11877331
  3. Protestors came in peace did they? What absolute garbage:
  4. It's a phenomenon known as the oppression Olympics. By labelling themselves with a condition, they get granted more special oppression points and so their voice automatically carries more weight and they should be afforded more opportunities in life to prevent discrimination and bigotry.
  5. Any criticism from you I consider to be a compliment.
  6. Well then that's a different question. Is every individual that has sympathies with some of the aims of the alt right racist? I would argue that it's a similar proportion of communists who support some of the aims of the regressive left. The problem then becomes when the definition of "alt right" becomes broadened and individuals label others alt right in order to silence them - see the recent examples of Jordan peterson and James damore for example. The scariest question for some would be considering that in some areas the alt right MAY have some ideas that have some merit or at the very least some ideas that are worthy of discussion. That argument becomes more persuasive when you see university professors tweeting things like "all I want for Christmas is white genocide" and as I previously mentioned all the title 9 abuses in America. Trump and brexit both occurred at least in part because people's legitimate concerns were ignored and they were called bigoted and racist. Rather than address any of their concerns following the vote, many have doubled down and declared there are many more racists sexist homophobes than they thought. See the viral Jonathan pie video about Trump for an approximation of what I think about that.
  7. Any hint of who we will be going for?
  8. Verbal- America has a racist past and still has some racists in it now. Some of these racists planned a March in charlottesville and chanted racist slogans. They should be condemned. Antifa and the like have committed similar acts of terrible violence which includes potentially blinding someone permanently as well as leaving others hospitalised and cities smashed up. They should also be condemned. How is that a difficult concept? Why is it that the BBC are quite happy to discuss fascist violence coming from the far right but seemingly have a problem with similar violence emanating from the hard left? How can it be right that groups like antifa or "by any means necessary" can hide behind opposing fascism in order to violently shut down events that they disagree with? You are the one who said I was discussing terrorist acts in relation to attacks when that was not my intention at all. My point is that the hard left and hard right have no place in civilised society yet it is the mainstream media that only want to concentrate on the racist scumbags on the right. It is the regressive left that is responsible for wrecking livelihoods, suspensions from universities without trial, teaching false facts about rape culture and teaching one group to hate another group because of their sex, sexual orientation or yes even their skin colour yet in your mind we cannot discuss these things or the very real problems caused by this extremist faction without being accused of racism? that's just absurd. I understand that America has a historic race problem and that this causes particular sensitivities around this topic there, but in my opinion, modern day America has a problem with both extremes and they need to address both problems or we will keep seeing the race baiting, white supremacist language and horrible violence on the far right and the silencing, shaming, diversity quotas, perversion of hate speech laws and violence on the left.
  9. Well your same line of logic could apply to a situation where a child is being overfed to the point they are morbidly obese. In both cases parents are doing somethibg that is damaging their children's health. Should it be live and let live in that circumstance?
  10. Sorry no idea who my man is. It appears that with regards to David Duke there is this one single issue where it appears that he and I are in agreement, otherwise I wholeheartedly disagree with everything he stands for. I haven't read his exact quotes though so I could be wrong.
  11. And potentially permanently blinding someone with pepper spray, smashing people over the head with bike locks which put them in hospital, beating people to the ground and kicking them in the face and head till they are concussed and that's before you mention things like getting people fired from their jobs or publicly destroying careers or accusing men of rape based on non existent evidence and before a trial has even occurred. The hard left are guilty of much but it's consistently downplayed by the mainstream media.
  12. Exactly. Why do people have to jump through hoops. The media have made their money over the last few years largely ignoring militant organisations on the left and demonising every organisation left of centre as racist and hateful. A man of real integrity - Dr Jordan Peterson- has been the latest victim of this mischaracterisation when he was referred to in various outlets as a far right figure when he is nothing of the kind. Proper hate groups that cause violence and death should be called out for what they are and so too should those who abuse initiatives such as title 9 in the US which ruins the lives of young men without trial. Referring to all Conservative groups as racist bigots and all left leaning groups as regressive left snowflakes helps no one - that's not to say that these two groups do not exist though obviously.
  13. How do you define attacks then? Because antifa attacks have consistently underreported such as when they smashed the place up i'm response to a speech from Milo yiannopoulos. And who said I was just referring to attacks specifically in America?
  14. When has it ever been about "legends" on the banner? As far as I was aware, it's about people who represent different eras at the club. Lambert does that just as much as Markus imo.
  15. As usual you are not clear in any way. When radical Islamists cause terrorist attacks I condemn radical Islam and those who commit terrorist attacks in the name of it. When racists run over and kill people and terrorist organisations on the left commit other acts of violence and smash up cities, pepper spray people so that they may be blinded etc I condemn the racists on the right AND the authoritarian left. I certainly don't try to justify violent acts from either side, violent acts of terror are never the answer. It's not hard to understand but I knew you would have trouble.
  16. Potentially yes assuming we are talking about people with gender dysphoria- a psychological condition that deserves sympathy and treatment rather than brutal surgery or denying biological reality- and not those who call themselves trans because it's a fashionable thing they've heard about on tv. The whole thing about multiple genders is entirely absurd and real trans people will identify as either male or female because they are transitioning from one sex to the other one.
  17. Couldn't disagree more. Whilst clearly sexual characteristics and body type account for a large portion of difference between males and females, numerous studies show that on average there are measurable differences between male and female brains too. Looking at differences in empathy, relationships, spacial awareness and a whole host of other factors shows that there are fundamental differences between men and women that are more than purely physical- again this is on average. It's what the Google memo controversy has been all about with people very quick to scream sexist without actually reading it and critiquing the very reasonable point Damore was making backed up by studies. As for this particular case, it's tantamount to child abuse and should be dealt with by the authorities accordingly.
  18. Indeed. If anything they should be encouraging people to learn about him and the part he played in the slave trade rather than being airbrushed from history. Not that any of that excuses far right violence of course.
  19. Legitimate protests I have no problem with but I'm sorry, antifa are a terrorist organisation who routinely use violence, intimidation and smash stuff up as a form of "protest". I don't care who the organisation are, these tactics should be reviled no matter who they come from.
  20. Do These sound like the type of people you should be defending? https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/09/the-rise-of-the-violent-left/534192/
  21. Hardly. I condemn both the hard right abd hard left here. antifa are scum in much the same way that the alt right are.
  22. That would only make me an apologist if the vast majority of the attacks in recent memory were far right attacks and I were constantly repeating "what about far left attacks" to try and make some sort of false equivalency. Clearly that is not the case here since it is arguable that attacks from the likes of antifa have been at least as prevalent as attacks emanating from the far right. Both are abhorrent by the way and should be eradicated.
  23. Speaking of charlottesville, I find it odd that the BBC is reporting that Trump is under fire for condemning the violence without specific reference to the far right. By all accounts, the alt left terrorist groups like antifa and black lives matter were just as culpable for causing violence and destruction. Both sides should be condemned.
  24. Saints sure know how to dampen my enthusiasm.
