Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

Yes I read a lot. I didn't consider this book to be particularly biased, in fact I am surprised about how impartial it is. Out of interest, what but of my quote did you believe to be unreasonable. -
Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

I'm about halfway through a really interesting book called "nothing to do with islam" - a very fair study into the qaran, how it is studied and interpreted by Muslims and why calling Islam a religion of peace is absurd. It is a really eye opening read for those who are not that well versed on the Islamic faith. This but in particular interested me: "some readers may respond to the proof of Islam's deep revulsion towards unbelievers as highlighted in this chapter by stating that they have Muslim friends who treat them with respect and courtesy. This may indeed be the case, but the reason behind the friendship of these Muslim people is probably the fact that they choose to act on natural human instincts and ignore this aspect of Islamic teaching. However, the attitudes and actions of individual Muslims do not, for one moment, take away the existence of the verses listed above. They are there in the heart of the Qaran, ready to be discovered by any Muslim who may ask whether the way he or she thinks about non-Muslims and interacts with them is pleasing to Allah." -
Nah. He was alright and as I said a nice bloke. He wasn't great though and he will be a squad player to assist Everton in Europe.
-
Really? I thought he was a nice bloke with a good attitude who was a very limited footballer.

Not many were predicting that after seeing the Tory manifesto and after the campaign produced one car crash after another.
-
The one where the most boneheaded and inept Conservative manifesto and election campaign in a generation still managed to defeat corbyn.
-
No like we did with Lovren and Toby.

SSN: Southampton want to sign Luciano Vietto

But Gallagher has just signed a new contract as well. If we are keeping him in the squad then I can't see us keeping Austin, Gabbi, Vietto, Long and Gallagher happy. I reckon Long will leave. -

Not at all, the league they come from is fairly irrelevant. Wanyama was obvious quality and had been MOTM in the champions league against Barcelona. Mane too had rave reviews with many commentators and fans commenting on what a talent he was. It's not "hilarious" to suggest that both had a fair bit more going for them than simply potential. All signings are a gamble to an extent but some clearly represent less of one than others. -

Seems OK. I'd quite like some real quality this window as well though like Wanyama, Mane etc rather than just potential or a bit of a gamble. -
The Reed interview normally occurs after a few sales and before we have replaced anyone. So maybe the next few weeks.

Slightly bizarre thing to say in my opinion. English football as an export has had an amazing influence all over the world and SAF is the most successful manager ever. Of course he has had an exceptional impact whatever you think of Manchester United. It's the same with famous entertainers who can have enormous impacts and are just as deserving of knighthoods as others who have had notable impacts in other professions.
-
It's a common modern day phenomena and is why I tend to avoid threads like this in general. I totally understand if this sort of story affects people but personally I only really get affected if it's someone I know and even then I tend to discuss it with people privately rather than plaster it all over social media. Anyway, as someone else said if this is the sort of thing people want to do and his family is happy with it and it brings them some comfort then I don't suppose it's necessarily doing any harm.

I hope sims gets more of a chance this year- he looked superb at times last season.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

Where's the alternative to the quilium foundation that's fighting Islamic extremism from within the Islamic community? As Nawaz and Murray point out, the only counter extremism strategy the government has is the prevent strategy which undoubtedly hasquite a hit wrong with it. Instead of seeking to reform it or to suggest an alternative, most Muslim leaders want to see it scrapped and Andy Burnham ran his campaign based on that. That's half the problem and until someone comes up with a better alternative for tackling extremism then I fail to see how nawaz has been undermined in any way. -
I'm really not bothered about links in the media. We've often got players in layer during the window and normally one or two decent buys. Our recruitment was poor last summer but I don't think we will repeat that again.
-
But we could just as easily buy a player who is better than what we have, develop them and then sell them for a massive profit. It's worked for us so far, why bother to change it now?
-
Would it? Not sure u like the idea of improving a player for a bigger club with no return.

Thanks for that. I have heard a few interviews but I'm sure this will be just as good. I have read most of the book and it's definitely worth having a read whatever your political persuasion. -

And another: "the left has a narrative for people like me; I'm the victim. I've been through the stuff that the left says people go through that makes them a victim- I've been through violent racism, I've been arrested at gunpoint at 15 and racially profiled. I've. Been imprisoned in the war in terror, I've witnessed torture. I am a brown Muslim and everything they say should make me a victim has happened to me but because my conclusions don't concur with their preconceived ideological script, suddenly my voice becomes illegitimate and it's incredibly patronising and colonial if you think about it." -

Best part of that interview around 27 minutes: "the regressive left, you claim to care about Muslims. I'm a Muslim and downplaying the extent of this problem is only making them suffer even more. We've got to accept the level of the problem we are dealing with before we can begin to tackle it. We are faced with what I call a global jihadist insurgency frankly that's what it is and no amount of lying and pretending will change that we see it as clear as day in front of us. Somalia, Nigeria enslaving women, Syria, Iraq enslaving women. It's undeniable and any attempt to deny it can only be ideologically driven." There's a few on here who have some ideologically driven beliefs who would rather deny that this has anything to do with Islam even when more moderate Muslim voices like Nawaz say that the link is indisputable and that to deny the link does more harm than good. -

I'm not reading all of that drivel. In the meantime, here is an eye opening video released today. Everyone who doesn't fancy being a close minded idealogue should watch it. -

Answered on a number of occasions on here as you are fully aware. Search for it and it can be easily found. -
Would be nice to get a couple of high value players of undoubted quality in rather like we did with players like vvd and mane. DM and a goalscoring midfielder are priorities for me.

Odd response. I dare say she's done a darn sight more than anyone else on here to combat the poisonous aspects of islam and at great personal cost to herself.
