We were talking about it because this is a topic called "Jeremy Corbyn and the death of the Labour Party". Its hardly surprising that a topic called that would primarily be about things that are happening in the Labour Party. Continually trying to move the topic away from the Labour Party on a topic about the Labour Party is perverse.

Ain't that the truth! Nail on the head there.
-
But we weren't, we were talking about the problem of anti-semitism in the labour party. Just because every post from a Corbynista is seeking to exapnd the topic to other political parties in order to dilute what is clearly a serious issue doesn't mean that that was what was being talked about. Defenders of Corbyn seem unable to discuss the anti-semitism in the Labout party without also discussing unrelated unsavoury elements within other political parties.

Some of the apologism, whataboutery and frankly denial on here is very amusing. All it would take to largely solve this stuff is to adopt the definition of anti-semitism in full and to take a hardline disciplinary stance against anyone who airs views that fall within that definition. They don't do that though and I wonder why that is? They may eventually adopt it after this entire PR nightmare but it's extremely telling how slow they have been to actually take any of this seriously. Nobody seriously believes that their failure to properly implement the definition was because they were making it MORE robust. It's because they don't think those things in the definition amount to anti-semitism and the implication is that you should be allowed to make those claims and not be criticised or disciplined for them. The main defence on here appears to be pointing at supposed islamophobia in the Tory party as if that has any kind of relevance to any of this at all. It doesn't

To be honest I'd rather some of our rubbish players from last season were poor in pre season as I have no faith that they will suddenly be any better. Much better that Hughes sees how poor they are in pre season as he isn't likely to pick them so in that respect romeu, Davis, bednarek etc can be as poor as they like. Good though to see some our new players doing pretty well. I feel confident we have improved from last season even if it's only a little bit.

What middle class students and hippies? I don't think they'll be feeling much pain.

Didn't your missus used to post on here?

Thanks for the update cabbage. Real itks like you are the lifeblood of this forum unlike scam artists like Jack schitt. Love and light.

It popped up as breaking news as I was reading the BBC. I find court proceedings interesting in general- just finished reading the secret barrister and particularly this case as it's polarised a lot of people.
-
We should have absolutely listened and believed our Kenyan friend. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? As you say a massive loss. Love and light.

I'm not sure if he can now plead not guilty at the next one. The argument was that it was all rushed through with no opportunity for the defence to discuss mitigating factors. Would be interesting to know actually. It seems he pleaded guilty but it wasn't actually spelled out what parts of the video amounted to contempt and therefore what he was pleading guilty to. I expect if he subsequently pleads not guilty that his lawyers could argue that. "There was no clarity about what the appellant was admitting or on what basis he was being sentenced." Pretty shocking stuff!
-
Quite possibly. Hopefully it should act as a deterrent to people who could potentially put court cases at risk even if that wasn't their intention. I'm sure many people didn't even realise that filming in that manner could result in contempt of court. I am glad that it appears they are going to do the whole court case properly now but I am concerned that they rushed through the conviction in the first place when as the judgement says there was no need to after the video was taken down. I hope the original judge considers matters like this and makes the correct judgements if he ever has to try similar cases in the future- I saw he was in the window watching Tommy outside before he was arrested which seems pretty dodgy on its own.
-
So then Tommy Robinson has won his appeal after the judge accepted that the process for convicting him was fundamentally flawed. He's still guilty of contempt of court in my opinion and should be sentenced for that but this judgement does give some credence to those saying he was treated differently by the system because of who he is. I want to see all individuals treated equally before the law.

Jack schitt was quite obviously a troll. Anyone with even the slightest amount of common sense was fully aware of that at the time and he quite rightfully received ridicule and abuse for his attention seeking nonsense.
-
Stop being such a hypercrite.
-
This 100%. Only simpletons or those who like feeling an undeserved sense of moral superiority have trouble seeing the difference.
-
Indeed. Well said.
-
Agreed and it's incredibly obvious who the true itks are who are just sharing what they can. Very rarely do those types of posters get any abuse. It's also obvious who the bullsh*tters, liars and attention seekers are largely because they get so angry when they are even mildly questioned. I don't support any abuse or ridicule of genuine itks but over the years the likes of Jack schitt, Saint David, lifelong Saint and others deserve all the cr*p they received.

Oh dear soggy has been embarrassing himself again I see...
-
Out of that lot I'd rather have Clyne, fonte, puncheon, lallana, schneiderlin, Rodriguez and lambert. So maybe 4 or 5 players from the current squad would get in that team. Makes me sad looking at that.
-
Stop following me around the board soggy.

I'm always suspicious of these type of things. Is it an official one? Is there any confirmation of what's happening with the finance?

If we compare to previous seasons we are weaker all over the park apart from maybe gk. We best pray that our new attacking signings are up to scratch because our midfield seems to be one of the weakest since promotion. Does anyone have the lineup for our first game back in the top flight for comparison? I just hope we play some entertaining football.
-
Absolutely appaling attacking lineup there. Lower third of the table without a doubt.
