Pretty pathetic comment from yourself. I haven't said that at all and in fact yesterday I said this:
So have never said the new signings are rubbish you are just making things up.
I'm not sure are you? Lamela has played against Arsenal so far so clearly a much more difficult game than Norwich Swansea or Sunderland. The point is that Tottenham have a greater squad depth than us and are able to adapt to play a different way. Our goal drought is from last season as well as this one and I think most would agree that without Shaw and Clyne we really need to come up with something different so we can get a result without them. Not sure why you are obsessed with comparing us to Spurs.
I don't think we have created much. Hardly anything against Norwich, not a whole lot against West Brom either although we were the better team. Sunderland we had a ton of the ball but how much did we make the keeper work?
Except that the available evidence suggests not. Basically we are left hoping that Clyne and Shaw stay fit at least until January if we want to have a successful season that is better than mediocrity. Big ask IMO.
He isn't a hero but he scored a lot of useful goals last year and offered something different often off the bench. We don't really have that in the squad now.
Bit confused by people grading us an A. Surely A would be absolutely perfect yet most believe we still have some weaknesses so how can you say we have had a perfect Window?
Well if we are relying solely on that tactic then I am worried. We have plan a and that's about it. Losing puncheon and not replacing him is so disappointing because he offered us something different.
Basically I would much rather have had a pacy direct attacking player (look at redmond for instance) than Wanyama. Wanyama may turn out great, but that was our greatest need from this Window imo along with a CB.
For me it isn't about the ability of the players we have signed because no one can argue that they seem decent but it is the type of players that can be called into question. Lovren is a fantastic signing but for the other two I would argue that there were more pressing priorities. It is of course extremely early days but the problem now is that we are sort of forced into starting these two even if it disrupts the team. Breaking up the cork and Morgan combo seems like a bad idea to me and imo Wanyama may be a good player but cm was pretty much our strongest area last year. It will be interesting to see how the striker situation plays out but we had two main weaknesses last year CB and no directness and running with the ball when attacking. Pretty rubbish that we didn't address that glaring weakness and actually made it weaker. As Norwich showed we were completely predictable and easy to defend against.
I don't consider myself similar to them other than having some views on sfc in common but Avenue saints seems to follow cb myself and Turkish around amongst others.
