  1. Only just looked here. And not read all thread, but everyone I spoke to who went raved about him (well raved maybe bit much!) He filled position which had been open, strong, confident on the ball and thought his passing was excellent. He was rightly booked for trying too hard. Would be very surprised if hardly anyone agrees with you, but as you say...opinions! I am pretty confident we would have won with him, for a start he protected Targett. (Although Targett started ok was then pretty poor at times, but hate to hear youngster getting abuse, wasn't as if wasn't trying)
  2. Morgan was possibly only second to Matic in his role last season, so in 'reality' who would be direct one-for-one replacement? Maybe getting two, one who has played well in world cup, one who has learnt his trade with Barcelona and played for Chelsea isn't too bad. Every year we hear about great new signings for other clubs, who then in reality don't do as well as ours. We hear realistic posters predictions being the most unrealistic. Strange
  3. Added full internationals; Jaunmi Soares Stelkenburg Clasie Caulker Martina And Romeu only Spain U23.
  4. Long awaited? How many games would Cork have got last season? How many if VW, Morgan, JWP, Harrison Reid and Steve Davis fit? If any. I would be disappointed if we weren't signing players better than Cork now.
  5. I am sure he is pleased to hear that after learning his trade with Barcelona, and playing for Chelsea's first team he has reached the level of Swansea's sub!
  6. He's played with him for U21s. Think could possibly write off sudden interest in Class or for Dutch link, maybe Forster interest as ex-Celtic team mate, although seems a year late, but sudden following of Pelle....starting to sound more than coincidence! I was disappointed last year as wanted him over Toby, think maybe an upgrade...although would have been happy with proven premier quality of Toby.
  7. Well said. It seems beyond some what a football fan is. It shouldn't be a surprise that on a clubs supporters forum that posters are more positive towards, show bias towards etc our club and our players. It's amazing that people are criticised for being positive or enjoying the club. You say its the two of them that add these repetitive comments, the way they are often the only posters who back each other up, I'm not convinced it is two people

Anyone who knows anything about football.... So Koeman and MP don't know anything about football? Both rated him over forum fav Cork. England manager has recently said he is good enough for full international. Guess some don't understand retaining possession and intelligent play. You can use comparisons with the worlds most expensive left bank, or second youngest England international, but how many central or creative midfielders, of his age, out perform him in prem? Not many.
  9. Thanks mate. Stekelenburg - think was supersonic Caulker - Simon Peach Cedric - @andybrassell Juanmi - saintsfc? Not sure Mane, Bertrand...
  10. The signings of Pelle, Tadic and Clasie were pretty obvious after Koemans comments etc. But where did the information first come out for the other recent transfers? Mathink most seem to be journalists, including our locals, rather than posters with knowledge. Anyone know who first linked a strong saints purchasing rumour for our signings?
  11. He is a superb player. The more involved the better he is. Wingers are typically likely to have games when things don't work or they can't get into the game. I suspect he will be one of the better players in the league this year, wherever he plays. I think the fee you thought was a joke as was too high will prove to be a bargain
  12. Clyne has been replaced. We have added utility back up. Likes of Target are more experienced. We have added international keeper. We didn't add Forster until august and Toby until September. We have good defensive manager in place. We are well ahead of this time last year. Sign the Celtic CB, who I wanted last season over Toby and I will be happy.

Board over confident after last six summers? Or maybe you just don't know what happened?

    Toby

This time last year many of same posters were over reacting because Lovren left. I expect that they hadn't heard of Toby then. Although he is a superb CB he wasn't our best defender for a generation - he wasn't our best CB last season!! A year ago I was hoping we would sign the Celtic CB. Sounds like he has improved and is available. I suggest waiting for official updates before criticise a poster who said Toby would not sign for Spurs. There is a lot of criticism on here of our club....without knowing the facts. Maybe keep an open mind? Or even acknowledge how great Les R has been so maybe knows what he is going??!!

Can't see that being a priority. Think they are very good for 3rd/4th choice CBs, probably best we have had. Gardos did ok when needed, Swansea, palace, man u, qpr away, Arsenal, west ham home For me prob one area with enough quality back up.
  16. Funny, was about to quote same post but saying Cork no here near as good as Oakley. Think Cork had great attitude but because of that his ability gets exaggerated. Not for minute saying he wasn't decent, or that he didn't do well for us, he did but would hope we are aiming for better players now.

    Toby

We still know very few facts so can only go on gut feelings. I still think we are most likely to sign him. A year ago, Toby was keen to sign for us despite other offers. We were at that time widely tipped for relegation. He said that when Koeman is personally calling you and saying he wants you in his team you can only say yes. After the year he had, the overachieving, his partnership with Fonte etc I can only imagine he will be keener. We had agreed a fee for established player and salary so after this season I can't imagine we would be suddenly too small or poor for this signing.
  18. Can't knock him for choosing this move. Nor club replacing him with player who has similar level of international experience, younger and will save on wages plus best part of £10m profit. Think new RB and £10m spent elsewhere on team could improve us....
  19. Wasn't particularly impressed with Toby at RB towards the end of last season.
  20. Sell player with handful of caps for 15th ranked country, replace with younger player with similar number of caps but for 7th ranked country....with about £8m profit.... The way our club is likely to continue. Doesn't sound disaster.

  22. Really don't get your strange views, looking for nonexistent arguments with every post. My point, maybe made with little ambiguity, but sure all other posters with more than half a brain got the point.. Apart from the season when Suarez single handedly pushed them several places higher, (season before last) their last 4 seasons have averaged 7th. Not sure who you are arguing with who thinks we are as 'big'? Think every poster will agree they have miles more history, support, prestige, publicity, money etc etc. However, think most will have some thoughts of ..if we were in chaos last season, tipped for relegation, posters mocked for saying club aiming for Europe still and we finished two points below, we should have chance of being higher next season. Loads to do, so have a good day
  23. Did anyone say Liverpool is a sideways move? Or just not currently as a big positive step as going to one of the top sides? Liverpool's last 4 league finishes, without Suarez (oldest first) 7th 6th 8th 7th Nice steady average of 7th, where we are. Last season we were only 2 points (from memory) or an appalling ref display behind them. Seeing how they finished, Roger's delusion, Gerrard and Sterlings departures, their recent transfer record / deteriorating players, our last summer compared to this ..I would hope we overtake them next season
  24. Gardos. Prem games was used for (first one just one minute but rest played decent amount) Newcastle home won 4-0 Swansea away won 1-0 Crystal palace away won 3-1 Chelsea home drew 1-1 Arsenal home won 2-0 Man u away won 1-0 Newcastle away won 2-1 QPR home won 1-0 West ham home 0-0 Wba away lost 1-0 Won 7 drawn 2, lost 1, f15 , a4? As 4th choice, suggests good cover
  25. Significant part of the season? Not really.. Clyne was clearly, and rightly first choice. Clyne started 20 odd games, had a hamstring injury which must have been 5 or 6 games, think had another injury. Maybe rested / Chambers preferred for about 8??? Think Clyne is good player, thought maybe would work in back 3, but Clyne is a lot better. Clyne's best game was home to Arsenal....
