  1. Tisdale - the popular choice!
  2. did we pay £600,000? our current situations shows payments out were too high - but you could go over many transactions the same way. Yes he hasn't shown what potential we hoped he had, but I don't think anyone here has a clue how much was paid or his comparative wages? Therefore harsh to single him out
  3. point is we got worse after he went proving those saying anyone would be better wrong. at any time since he has gone we would gladly go back to how badly we performed under him. this is why stability, knowing your owners budget etc are all factors, however, as above, have agreed with you this is time for fresh change - (although personally even with doubts I have over him, and the links to the past, I would probably go for him over some of the names that always do the rounds!). The is the simple point I was trying to make, sorry if it wasn't clear, - I wouldn't just sack him for the sake of it but would hope we could recruit better candidate. Have no desire to get into another of your lengthy pedantic multi-quote arguements. - although it is clear they intended to keep them!
  4. we haven't paid £1.2m!
  5. I am big advocate of stability, however I agree this is not the time - there is none! So re-assess and get the best man for the job.
  6. fair enough, disagree tho. If we have paid £100,000 up front for someone who ends up playing 100 for France -think that was deal worth doing!
  7. Saints manager search put on hold Gorman and Dodd have been in charge since George Burley's exit Southampton have confirmed caretaker bosses John Gorman and Jason Dodd will remain in charge at the club for the "foreseeable future". The duo took over after George Burley left to become Scotland boss and Saints director Lawrie McMenemy is happy. He said: "The ship is nice and steady, management is about doing the best with what's available and that's what these two lads are doing."
  8. you lost it on your first line! didn't need to read after that
  9. think it was Arsene W who said he doesn't expect any foreign signings to perform nearly at their best for 12 months due to impact of moving to new country etc. And muct be harder at 19. Maybe we shouldn't have spent out whatever the fee was up front but doubt it was the difference between financial survival and admin.
  10. looks like any spending of money was a wrong decision -as we have shown we haven't got any! Don't think there is any need to single him out.
  11. do you know how much we paid? its not the £1.2m figure you quote, guess the total amount would be reached on things like promotion or interniational games etc. Often quoted as rising to when just on appearances - this was only could rise to.
  12. 4 yr contract that could rise to 1.5 m euros. still only 19 with handful of first team games. won;t write him off yet.
  13. Schneiderlin - aged 19.
  14. so far looks 1) DMG 2) James clear of 3) Gillett/Size/perry
  15. suppose Wotte ought to be there?! lose the lowest couple each day and re-vote then appoint the winner!
  16. but no longer our player!
  17. had a funny feeling he might come good for us - not based on anything seen just funny feeling!
  18. go on mods, close season sport!
  19. they did get a decent crowd when they lost to a bigger club in the Carling cup back in August!
  20. possibly owned by group headed by ex-team mate. 32,000 seater stadium - likely to get 12k+ short term, good away support, history, publicity - much better on his CV. or stay with Exeter, highest crowd - 8,500, lowest 2,800, average 4,900.
  21. the jobs just don't compare, yes same league, yes points deducted but for ambitious manager signing 3 year contract - no brainer he probably wouldn't even ask the salary before driving up to start. Get real.
  22. should go to home games - much friendlier supporters!
  23. think this is why people are so negative about him - almost as if he came along saying I can do the job Rasiak/John and Saga put together did you don't need them - he didn't. Don't blame him for them not being here. He is a half decent player and would be a loss if he does go.
  24. Radio Solent Kelvin- believes players got team relegated so have a responsibility to stay and get it promoted. Excited about MLT possible takeover, will stay if offered contract. No-one with contract should leave but thats up to them. Surman - v excited about MLT. Had no talk about Reading etc at all, was put on spot after Kelvin's comments and agreed (hard to say otherwise!).
