Saints Greatest XI - B-Team Right Side Striker Poll
NickG replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
good idea, well run and interesting -just think this one should have been reviewed and voted for A team first - currently BT will get into the best ever saints forward line up -ahead of Keegan and Davies etc -
2 in 2 games etc, give him a break

he's lightweight, we wouldn't want him -
think we argue enough about present players, then add the past players -so don't think we need a debate on two player who have never played for us nor firmly linked!
-
oh my god! if fact that the rumour wasn't true wasn't bad enough!
-
I don't sit million miles from him -will let you know if they are audible!
-
trying to be humble, actually they are all right!
-
if, as masterbates said, he was signed yesterday, why would it not have been announced by now -if true? Sure there is something in it but doesn't look like first post was right
-
that would fall into the premature bit! in talks/offer made etc may have been better...but not as interesting!
-
and maybe see how the teams who sacked their managers do?
-
I will be sad.

IMHO this is clearly wrong, or premature at best. If he had signed at the time of this post it would have been announced by both, or at least one of the clubs by now. He may have been approached, or in talks but can't see how he could have been signed but everyone is keeping it a secret!

looking back at his posts, I agree with a good 50% of what NickG says.

16 January 2009 Lupoli linked with Southampton DAVID CUFFLEY, EVENING NEWS SPORT Striker Arturo Lupoli has again been linked with a move from the Canaries to fellow Championship strugglers Southampton. The 21-year-old regained his place in the City starting line-up for the last two matches of Glenn Roeder's reign as manager after scoring the equaliser in the FA Cup at Charlton a fortnight ago, when he came on as a substitute. Before that trip to The Valley, the Italian talked of quitting Norwich if he didn't get first team football and was linked with Serie A clubs Sampdoria and Torino. Unconfirmed reports in Italy claimed Lupoli's agents were in talks with Southampton yesterday, though sources on the South Coast suggest manager Jan Poortvliet will be unable to bring in new faces without trimming his squad, especially after the return of high earner Marek Saganowski to St Mary's Stadium. The Polish international is back from a loan spell with Danish side Aalborg to boost Southampton's strike force. Lupoli joined City from Fiorentina for the season in July, though as an overseas player, it was not on a conventional loan deal but a one-year contract. He has scored five times for the club in 17 appearances. Lupoli's agents met with delegates from the Saints yesterday, according to Firenzeviola.it

I know, and harder league but better team etc -hard to compare.
-
infact, in stato mode he already has matched the top scorer for 95/96 (MLT/Shipperley) and 98/99 (MLT/Ostenstad). form/confidence is key thing for forward -he should start.
-
no but 7 league goals in half a season, two in two games is not a drought. Remember our top scorer most seasons, about half of last 20 odd seasons, has finished on less than 13!
-
this is getting a bit Skacel like! just searched news sites/sky sports etc -nothing
-
maybe all three! longer term maybe, but forwards are there to score and when a player has in last two games think he should start
-
signed over the phone from Norwich????
-
what cos that took a day!
