  1. their team news BARNSLEY manager Simon Davey is facing a selection nightmare as he bids to get back to winning ways at Oakwell against Southampton. Anderson de Silva (ankle), Hugo Colace (thigh), Diego Leon (hamstring), Martin Devaney (ankle), Rob Kozluk (facial injury), Michael Coulson (knee) and Iain Hume (fractured skull) are all likely to be missing from the squad. Miguel Mostto has also returned to Peru and his absence will also further deplete the Reds options. There is some good news though with Darren Moore, Jamie Cureton and Jon Macken set to return after missing last weekend's FA Cup defeat at West Ham. Youngster Jacob Butterfield is on standby to make his full home debut while Mounir El Haimour and Maceo Rigters could also retain their places in the starting eleven.
  2. Wotton over fit Schneiderlin / Surman / Gillet or Lallana?
  3. agree -quite likely side and looks pretty balanced, one of best sides we have put out (assuming new guy is ok). Thought Smith looked better in Man U game and had some good comments in nationals
  4. so has coronation street but that doesn't show any sign of finishing either!
  5. unfortunately I can't see any change -either way for a long time.
  6. I will be happier if we stay out of administration
  7. did you name him? research or informed guess? it was guaranteed on here that KD, AS and AL were gone and none in -lets hope predictions of gloom were wrong on other bits!
  8. could we pass that off as a wind up? this ought to have a poll! Dr Evil top for me!
  9. as every other club
  10. great thread -well done !
  11. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11195 please can we wait until we see him before slating him;)
  12. take it down and give it to his wife to carry around?
  13. one start, sub twice.
  14. Andrew Davies was our highest paid player?
  15. football finance expert on radio yesterday said that clubs need to be aiming at 40% of turnover as wages up to 45%. so guess 81% is pretty bad! They did quote Hearts running at 145%!
  16. we played a team, who have just beaten the world champions, off the park -beating them away (23rd Aug), this shows we are a truly great side.
  17. agree -probably starting a forward with too little experience even in smaller games
  18. didn't expect much more and think we have played worse, with 11 players, against much worse teams. Think criticisms are bit ott in circs (for Saturday not the season) thought we did chase and didn't do too bad before sending off. We would have still been easily beaten
  19. and 10 men! makes bit of difference when chasing a game against world champions!
  20. pretty good summary
  21. OS says LB was new position for him so that must be wrong! http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=9020 The Czech was loaned out to Greek club Panathinaikos last season and spent most of the time at left-back. Hearts boss George Burley, named manager of the month, said: "I was aware Rudi is versatile, can play anywhere on the left and play in the centre of midfield. "Rudi played at left-back a lot last season for Panathinaikos and his strength is his energy, he loves joining in and has a role in the team where he is allowed to do that. "It is about trying to get the best out of everybody and Rudi has enjoyed having that little bit of freedom on the left-hand side.
  22. http://sport.scotsman.com/spl/Hearts-agree-Skacel-price-with.2660071.jp http://www.hibs.net/message/showthread.php?p=1889171 seem to remember interviews /articles saying both. Actually think he is best with a similar player e.g. Bale / Surman who can defend and attack so they become interchangeable. At the moment he has no-one he can overlap with as no cover
  23. I have seen some real rubbish this season but actually thought we gave it a go for first half hour, and against players of the calibre, 10 men were only ever going to run out of ideas and energy. It was never going to be a reflection of where we are at -as they can beat premiership sides 3-0! As always we were lacking up front. But thought we chased a lot more -prior to the sending off then others are saying. David Armstrong said esay victory but by no means men agianst boys. Not saying it was close or we are playing well in league -we are not! but didn't think it was dire. Spoke to 2 skate season ticket holders today, one said he thought we might hang in until the sending off and thought our midfield chased well
  24. think he has shown better character recently than I expected
  25. I still find it hard to judge him fairly due to our bizarre circumstances
