David McGoldrick - one of the top 50 rising stars?
NickG replied to SaintDonkey's topic in The Saints
he was special at youth/reserve level, remember seeing him play- looking ****y and disinterested but scoring for fun. Just had that aire about him that he knew he would score. Wonder if his confidence is lower after scoring relatively few and also wonder if he could go on a scoring run -like BT. -
there won't be any -we are on a one game win sequence!
-
you doing that boycott thing? Guess which home game this season was the first home game I missed for 3 years?!
-
not often we agree but you are right
-
7 at half way stage puts him on target to be up with many other seasons top scorers
-
since I have been going; 73/74 Channon 21 74/75 Channon 20 75/76 Channon 20 76/77 MacDougall 23 77/78 Boyer 17 78/79 Holmes 8 79/80 Boyer 23 80/81 Moran 18 81/82 Keegan 26 82/83 Danny Wallace 12 83/84 Moran 21 84/85 Moran 12 85/86 Armstrong 10 86/87 Clarke 20 87/88 Clarke 16 88/89 Rod Wallace 12 89/90 Le Tissier 20 90/91 Le Tissier 19 91/92 Shearer 13 92/93 Le Tissier 15 93/94 Le Tissier 25 94/95 Le Tissier 19 95/96 Shipperley/ Le Tissier 7 96/97 Le Tissier 13 97/98 Le Tissier/ Ostenstad 11 98/99 Le Tissier/ Ostenstad 7 99/00 Pahars 13 00/01 Beattie 11 01/02 Pahars 14 02/03 Beattie 23 03/04 Beattie 14 04/05 Crouch 12 05/06 Fuller 9 06/07 Rasiak 21 07/08 John 20

why? there is none coming from the club only fans (actually don't think there is just wee bit of enjoying a rare win) but what is the danger of the fans being complacent? more will attend, more support?
-
if we are going down the takeover there are a few other honourable mentions! Saintlee, Morph etc!

lol, shows the lack of reasoning:rolleyes:
-
apparently offered loan but with too many clauses -no money passed
-
top scorers http://www.4thegame.com/statistics/championship/topscorers/
-
either that or improve the players infront of him?
-
agree, don't think they have really changed their thinking
-
is that right? a lot of forwards are happy with about 15 (would be our top scorer most seasons) so if he is on target for 18 odd that's pretty good return
-
would be bigger achievement than last year -so yes.
-
started season using Svensson, Perry, Wooton and Thomas as sub -perhaps average age is going down! Think the only change is realising (or having no-one to take him) that we need an experienced forward.
-
sometimes useful to base opinion on a few facts?!
-
how many has he got this season?
-
think it was more about 1) saving money -which they will keep doing! 2) giving younger players chance to train with first team and play more quickly -that is happening, look at Gobbern and McGlaggon etc. One of first signings was Wootton, don't think there has been any change in their thinking
-
that's what gets depressing here -enough to criticise the manager and board over without making up/ filling in gaps to find things to moan for the sake of it
-
my view was this month will tell us huge amount; squad gets worse and bad streak continues -running out of time and looking bad squad about same/better and couple of wins in month and will be a lot more optimistic. not rocket science I know but so far LB, CB and CF in, with loan players out -and a win. so far so good.....
-
all we know for sure is that he spoke positively about his time here, and the club didn't shun him but wanted him to stay. He didn't. Whether this was down to lack of our persuasive abilities and therefore open for criticism or down to location or knowing their manager (obviously outside of our control) and therefore not open to criticism we don't know.

who knows? none of us.
