  1. do you still have negatives these days?
  2. how about a week with no mention, or hints, or codes about any board member past or present - unless mods start thread as there is some news? We could try sticking to football threads? I know some think that if you say Lowe out enough times Crouch is suddenly going to decide he wants to buy the club -but my personal feeling is that keep saying it is only losing posters on here
  3. bizarrely the 2nd is more believible! They may not be Bill Gates, we may not agree with them on lots of things, but they are not morons -so why are they all backing someone who they know is not the popular choice?
  4. not sure what you mean mate? mine was tongue in cheek -but does make you wonder why Wilde and others are so strongly behind him now, he must have told them something!
  5. ;)maybe those who are more informed are happier with him?
  6. still place myself in the "jury out" group for Jan. But few things; making most of players available - half of these would have struggled to get into the reserves of a team that escaped relegation by 20 mins last season. Jan has stuck with systems too long at times, mainly early on when think he felt changing it would destroy the young players confidence. Jan has however recently made changes at half time that have made a difference, e.g. on Saturday I listened to 5live commentry for a change and they actually said Jan has shown astute tactical changes for 2nd half. NP seems to be being turned into a legend in the James Dean dying early mould - he had a lot of solid draws making us harder to beat, but also Hull, then Burnley at home when we could have moved up towards safety and were appalling. I think NP should have been kept. I think he probably did better last season than Jan would have done, but also think that Jan maybe doing better than NP would be doing this season. But we are all guessing.
  7. and still had Saga, John, J Wright, Licka, Idiakez, Viafara. Hammil, Lucketti, R Wright, Safri, Idiakez and Vignal.
  8. yep, makes him the boss!
  9. apart from owning it!
  10. what you seem to keep forgetting is the squad he inherited -of half decent players -who only a couple of months before were doing fine.
  11. some of the comments of a couple of recent games about half time changes by Jan suggest he does. I firmly believe the problem is more about players than systems. When we did poorly with 4-4-2 we weren't clamouring for 4-3-3 in 2nd half
  12. how long did he play Lallana for? Think it was about 15 mins in total over all 13 games, not much more than Lallana had played before. Not looked Gillet up but didn't remember him playing last year -prob I am wrong Resources? - Saga, John, J Wright, Licka, Idiakez, Viafara. Hammil, Lucketti, R Wright, Safri, Idiakez and Vignal. Like yours, not anti-NP post but think its not a fair comparison. Would Jan have kept us up? maybe not. Would NP be doing even worse this year? maybe
  13. who Charlton?
  14. your criticism of the poster doesn't seem anything to do with the quote? Did you read it or just think it was time for one of your random ill thought out moans for the sake of it?
  15. over the last 10 years every team relegated from CCC has played 4-4-2;)
  16. missed those on the list - pretty good value for money on signings then;)
  17. Holmes, Schneiderlin, Wooton yes, others not done anything yet
  18. that would give Derby 1 point from last 6 games, worst current form in country and only 3 points ahead of us, playing Watford on Saturday
  19. bit different sorting out likes of Woodgate, Lennon, Jenas, Bentley, Boatang, Bale, Gilberto, Ledley King, Bent etc!
  20. that was the way I looked at it when looking at table the other day however thinking back to premiership days I viewed mid table as more those not in euro or relegation contention rather than a particular position
  21. not really, by your logic the bottom three will be confident that they only need to carry on as they are as someone above will do worse! We don't know what will happen -but we are actually doing better than many of those who are slating Jan off predicted -we won't be down by Christmas, nor probably easter!
  22. those can't cost much at all. Pekhart and Cork probably no loan fee and quite possibly not even paying all their wages. Rest all low wages and virtually no fee.
  23. I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking we will go down, we are far from safe. Think it is wrong to say we are down, or will be down by Christmas as we had few weeks ago. My guess is we will be safe with a few games left. Portsmouth -think they may well have dramatic slide and finish in bottom 1/4 but never looking like getting into relegation battle. Sorry if didn't take thread seriously enough!
  24. I don't really think they are going down, hth
  25. and fined over Benjami -they are going down! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/7784238.stm
