Birmingham game (1st) was not starting brightly and bullied etc, we were well on top for about 50 mins -bit more than just the start, then it was one of those situation when a game is changed in a minute -we nearly score only for them to go down the other end and score. They bought on subs of a quality that no other side can and were on top - not over running us -but on top for the next half hour or so. Wasn't really bullied more sustained pressure from a quality side after they scored, as often happens. The teams working us out is bit undermined by the fact that the second time we played Bham they put a very good side out and we beat them easily.

Away -not sure if aimed at me as two Nicks on here at mo! I, and others enjoy supporting the team - if you don't anymore there is nothing wrong with that, people do change but just be comfortable with that and not complain that others still do enjoy supporting saints.

maybe shouldn't have posted it and maybe bit of immature reaction to the posts and pm received previously -in which case sorry to all. I do however standby the feelings I have about the writing off of players and managers prematurely and hoped I had made that clear as the motive behind this. As said several times I have no problem with others being pessimistic and all of our predictions are just that -predictions.

I am still glad I bought a season ticket, guess you didn't and this is the first you have seen them? if so this was not how we have been playing

still early days to say anything for certain -hence the optimist/pessimist arguements rather than realists etc. Teams have started badly and done better and vice versa. Equally you can't judge on one performance as I feel that is by far the worst I have seen this year. The midweek performance -on its own could suggest going up as champions -we won't, losing to Blackpool suggests we will do badly. I still think there is enough about this team to think we will be comforatable mid table. Bad run, bit lower, good rum bit higher. Felt today Gillet and Schneiderlin didn't hit the form they have previously shown and that effected our performance.

its ok when Hammil switched wings it takes him ten minutes to get to the other one! He must be poor NickG the pathetic optimist who hates slagging our players off continually slagged him off! One of the worst players ever to have played for us - was really excited after those Youtube clips!

I think most fans don't give much thought to the boardroom -it gets debated here but most concentrate, rightly IMHO on the team. They are influenced whether to attend by the performance. Not liking the chairman is an excuse not to go IMHO.

as another thread centres on Lowe... my point was those claiming to be "realistic" were not. They were pessimistic. those criticised for being "unrealistic" and happy clappy were not. They were optimistic. Who knows who we will do -no one. But we are looking better than last season when we stayed up so hopefully the relegated by Christmas posts -and there were quite a few - will be very wide of the mark. Enjoy the ride....

it is early days but surely it is a balance of concern and excitement until it is proven one way or other? Some of the pessimists were totally writing it off before giving it a chance (without opening old arguments you will remember one comment you made about a new signing which I thought was unfair and without substance) - sure have a moan when they let us down or complain when players are sold -we all get upset about that -but sometimes its worth waiting before the moans surely? other times -e.g. last close season and your CB crusade are justified

playing upfront with DMG moved or from the bench and stick with the in form striker letting them try to out perform each other for one place?

never understood that stance at all, as said before when I went at possibly age of your sons didn't know who the chairman was but wanted to support my local team and still love it - but I am please for you (meant genuinely not patronisingly) that you are all coming back as I have really enjoyed every game so far
