another thread which is bit positive turns into slagging club off!

Player trading & finances - a rough guide .

sky money pushed wages up and now no sky money -
says ten signings this summer! I know they are not big fees or names, and loans etc but many predicted on here not a single new face -at least there has been some decent signings http://www.thisishampshire.net/sport/saints/display.var.2438360.0.poortvliet_happy_with_squad_after_window_slams_shut.php

we were awful last season, attendances will be low until we win a few games
-
sure I read the opposite, not got time to research now but did before and thought he was LB until GB moved him forward

doubt if we are paying any loan fees to for our players, two have come from bigger clubs to develop the player (don't think we charge Bournemouth when they "develop" our youngsters?) -
honest lad...went for first team football not money!
-
can see for a couple of names but very few -most who left will not be missed -as last season's league table showed.
-
Rasiak and a confident Saga (not last seasons version) will be missed. would rather pay to watch Holmes, Lallana, Schneiderlin than Viafara John and BWP are not out of squad cos sold but cos DMG is playing better and they will likely return at some stage
-
would perhaps put him a bit better. Skacal always used to be LB until GB
-
people don't pay to watch a CB but concede his presence could effect results which in turn effect crowds
-
JP always said that he didn't want to play Surman as LB but thought was best option of players who were likely to remain at his disposal. Don't think he wanted to base pre-season and early games on players about to depart. As they are still here do you think Skacel will be used when fit as LB?
-
just heard man city fan on sky sports, "went to bed last night not hacing heard a thing then today we are taken over by one of rischest owners in world football" much like our overnight takeover then!
-
when there were no transfer windows clubs waited until they were fit before buying -now this is very common, no idea how good he is but signing a player who will not be available for a couple of games is not a problem
-
simpler than that mate - win and attendances go up, lose they go down. We have been doing badly for few years hence attendances drop. People don't pay to watch the directors box.

http://aol.sportinglife.com/football/fixtures/football_fixtures.auto?/opt/ASFapache/htdocs/zone/football/statistics/aol/FLC_200808.insdat looking at other crowds, 12.45 kick off, sky, august, after poor last season -not that bad. Looks bad compared to some but if you look at others its not
-
know squad is bit thin but think you are being bit optimistic if you think using 10 players for a game will see us through.
-
alpine -I am avoiding the baiting thats going on at the moment as have been guilty of being dragged into it but that Birmingham comment is just wrong. They fielded a strong team and were up for it, their manager was going mad at the players, we beat them playing well. Why do you suggest they were not interested? I think this is the sort of thing you need to be aware of if not getting into these arguements as there is nothing to base that on and is just a negative comment against saints with no evidential basis. Ok you have different opinions than others -but how could you have the opinion that that was not a decent win
-
not normally no;) but for over weight under performing whingers?
-
fair summary. I hope yesterday was an off day for two key players, if so this team will still win more than lose, if it was a case that the other games were them over-performing then it will need addressing. Early days and still happy and enjoying the season.
-
He played an excellent game and will go far.
-
agree about too much negativity at times but not the praising portsmouth support, they had that game when they built that reputation singing while, I think it was Arsensal, stuffed them -but they were poor last year as their expectations have risen
-
didn't think James was too bad today but would like to see Cork given a go. Svensson didn't have a good game but do not think he deserves to be dropped because of it. Main problem today was the significant drop in form of Gillet and Scneiderlin. If they are thought to be back in form stick with them -if not maybe one with Wooton. RM is the position most in need of settling, whether its one of the midfielders or swapping around and using Lallana or DMG (although thought they were two of the best players today)
-
so much so that their manager complained about their poor support and booing the team in their last home game before a cup final! I thought most applauded the young players off and wasn't aware of any booing
