  1. Which is where I came in. Leave it to the administrators and leave the spin and innuendo until a result is declared. I don't want to see the only bidder we have walk away. I'm sure MF is working his socks off to resolve the situation, however at present there is only one bid on the table.
  2. Fine, I get your drift, and I'm sure you got mine.
  3. Not if a bid gets withdrawn because the bidder runs out of patience.
  4. There is a big difference between discussing rumours and you talking about people you know, a bid and a plan you know about being put in place and then talking about another bid not being in the best interests of the club. It's not on.
  5. Read the post again. I'm sick of this spinning and as far as I'm concerned it's time to draw a line under it. If they try and rubbish other bids knowing that the media read this forum whilst at the same time saying they don't know what the other bid is, it's time to draw a line in the sand. I don't expect to be called on this but I happen to think that a late bid like this, is in fact not helpful we need to get this sorted sooner rather than later. A month has gone by now and the club is hanging on by the skin of it's teeth.
  6. I don't mind in the least you supporting your mate's yet to be submitted bid. I do have a problem with you making unsubstantiated criticisms of a submitted bid, insinuating that it doesn't have the club's best interests at heart. As all the parties are subject to NDA's and the other two parties are obviously respecting the NDA, it is a strange situation when Lynam's clients are on one hand are calling for privacy and at the same time you are on here making statements like that. It is high time everybody takes a step back and let's this take it's course. I will say, I know the identity of the Pinnacle group and will pass that information to the media if this crap continues. Don't say you haven't been warned.
  7. So am I Bill, however it's the Echo's mention of money owed to HMRC that troubles me. I find it a bit strange nearly a fortnight after the first bid and the perilous state of the finances, kept going by the underwriting of the legends match and the Saints Aid concert, that we now have somebody coming in at the eleventh hour and spinning whilst the other two are behind the scenes. I personally think that unless they get a move on this could yet unravel, how many times have we seen a drama unfold, then no deal done, with previous football rescues.
  8. Martin Samuel wrote a large article slaughtering the league for the way they make it up as they go along and talking specifically about our situation. I think it was in the Mail.
  9. All this presupposes the club stay operating. If they are wound up every thing falls apart. The club owe approx £6m and have no assets and are being kept going by the goodwill of the creditors and a begging bowl. If one creditor pulls the plug there will be no administration but immediate winding up. The PFA would pay the players and their contracts would lapse making them free agents. That is the timescale driving this.
  10. It's possible that pinnacle are spinning this to try and buy some time as I suspect the first bidder is not happy over the delay. The rumour that they have until tomorrow to get a bid in ties in. I would be surprised if there isn't pressure being applied, especially the players contracts etc need resolving. This thing has been dragging on for four weeks and needs sorting. Whilst I understand the support from those on here who know the pinnacle side, we can't afford to let this drag on. Conceivably there could be a rebidding until the preferred bidder is selected. This would use up more time.
  11. No, but I would have had If I'd started that other project. I think because the first bid was tabled about the 24th, it's been sitting there while a lot of other ducks have been trying to get into some sort of row. If it was me I'd be getting pretty hacked off and telling the administrator to sort it or forget it. Which may be happening. The problem in a way is 11 days have passed but only 5 working days.
  12. The first thing that has to happen is the manager must be left to manage. The Chairman has to back the manager 100% and the players must understand this. Paul Tisdale is only half of the Exeter football setup, Steve Perryman is Director of Football. They seem a good team. I'm not convinced by Jim Magilton, he had financial backing this season and ended up losing his job.
  13. I doubt they will now run out of money as the gate has been underwritten by a businessman. That was in fact the original plan, so the club will get the money if needed. With the band aid coming 10 days latter that will keep us going.
  14. The club is full of fragile lightweight players, whose football ability is questionable. The club needs a clearout. Management and players. We need senior players in their thirties who are fit and have reasonable ability with bags of guts and character. A couple of proper player coaches who are looking to move into management. I would cash in on Lallana and Surman, maybe McGoldrick and look to swop them for what we really need, goalscorers. We should have scouts at all the Eircom games this summer, there are definitely players there we could use.
  15. Whoever buys the club has to put up shedloads of money, probably borrowed, to allow Lowe back, could see Saints gates in the low thousands. That would ensure a massive loss immediately, you can't run a football club without fans. Rupert might think it the perfect new experiment.
  16. Not far from the tee either, yesterday watching three of them looking for a ball, or balls in the little bushes in the middle of the first just off the tee, I said to the pro that they would be better playing bowls, he said 'you ever seen them putt, bowls would be a nightmare' I'd grow 18" rough out to 150 yds every hole.
  17. I did, but he had heard that somewhere else. It's the naming of the alleged backers that I find interesting and a bit concerning.
  18. I found a pinnacle and a lady pinnacle golf ball this week. It's a major golf ball brand.
  19. That's a pretty good guess. My conflicting answers were from different threads, and correct. It's the alleged backers that give me a concern. I can't confirm either is true.
  20. Not on this thread as far as I know, I haven't read all the posts, but somewhere else on here.
  21. Sorry hypo the source is in retail. The name I've been given is associated with football.
  22. Sorry Ruth, it's the source that is in retail. The person is a household name, the backers a large financial institution. There has been rumours but the person who told me isn't a Saints fan. I won't post it, but I would back it. Even though I have concerns. I suppose a large element of any bid would be borrowed in any event.
  23. If we had 75000 at every game plus their marketing, Tv, and sponsorship it would be sustainable. We don't know who the manager is, who the players will be, how many will go to div one matches, etc, etc.
  24. Don't think he has been mentioned on here the backers are financial. My son's future father in law-retail.
  25. It's a public company, perfectly legit but it's the fact that a lot of the money would be borrowed. If it's that or bust then it's a no brainer.
