  1. He regards being at home second leg as an advantage. He said so in his pre Ipswich press conference.

    Will Still

It was clear early on the players weren’t listening to him.
  3. No queues at Central (around 10.15). Now on a relatively empty and quite slow train to Waterloo. Don’t know what all the fuss was about.
  4. Good read. I was there. One of the best days of my life.
  5. “He [Stewart] has a conversion rate of 31%. That's remarkably high. When he plays, he's been one of the-most efficient goalscorers in the entire league.” Compare that to the conversion rates of the other duffers and it absolutely would be nuts not to take Stewart. But yeah we don’t want him injured.
  6. You’ve got too much time on your hands.
  7. Bugger, I was going to go that way.
  8. It’s additional as it wasn’t available when I booked.
  9. Erm…I didn’t say Romeu should be starting this match, on account of the fact that I think Romeu should not be starting this match. I think it’s interesting to speculate on what kind of team Arsenal put out since they, like Saints, have other priorities. There’s a fair chance it won’t be the best team in the world, as suggested, but a mix and match and stronger than what they fielded against Mansfield. They have a deep squad so unless Saints put out the strongest team available we’re unlikely to go through.
  10. Do you think they’ll play their first team?
  11. What is the process for regional supporters clubs?
  12. I’d second that. I know Wrexham quite well and Chester is much the better option in which to stay and eat and drink out.
  13. That’s really poor. Without counting the dots the retained seats look something like 25% of the allocation. If the club must retain seats for whoever they deem worthy then maybe it should be done in proportion to the overall allocation. This appears disproportionate. If previous away games are anything to go by some of these seats will be empty on the night. This whole business is something which our fan advisory board should take up with the club but they’re more interested in busing people around Portsmouth. Really wanted to go to this match. Zero chance.
  14. Interested to see Derby sporting a Murkin. One vowel away from a pubic wig.

    Finn Azaz

I think the better the players around him the more effective he’ll be.
  16. It was a sitter.
  17. I thought our defence might have pushed up 10 yards and condensed play so as to make our greater quality count, especially the last half hour when they had a defence made up entirely of full backs. Agree about Azaz. He’s clearly one of the quality players we need to get on the ball much more in areas where we can punish shite teams like them.
  18. “The pinnacle of any season is the chance to play against Southampton “ Here is a club of very limited ambition. It might be flattering if it weren’t them.
  19. Days before the derby which we are all desperate to win to salvage something from a rotten season, we find out the team captain wants to leave, apparently even as soon as the current transfer window.
  20. I was contacted by the FSA after I posted my opposition prior to the first bubble at FP. They asked whether I’d be willing to challenge it in court, to which I responded I would if they were willing to fund it. That was the last I heard from them.
  21. Freely admit I’m not the best judge of a keeper but I thought he was at fault for both their goals. Won’t comment further as we’ll see how he goes but keeper is such a key position I just hope we haven’t signed another duffer.

    PROTEST

    They want our oil.
  23. You’d have been a brave man to have celebrated that goal. I was in the Milton and the Archers was packed with very noisy villa fans who brought hundreds of balloons.
  24. Didn’t compete. Missed Fellows helping the team get up the pitch. Way too many passes. What happened to moving the ball quicker? Should have gone 4 at the back early on to get an extra man in midfield. When it’s shit or bust, what do we get? Constipation football. Oh, and it took me 6 hours to get there. For that.
  25. I didn’t go the last time there was a bubble and I won’t be going this time. In the past, I’ve been there by train or occasionally driven; parked the car, walked to the ground, walked back, never a problem. I object to the insinuation that I can’t be trusted to make my own way to a sodding football match or can’t behave myself.
