Started again tonight, before coming off at half time. Bayer Leverkusen scored late on to keep their invincible season going.
-
More changes creeping in a direction I don’t like. I miss when the FA Cup Final was the centrepiece rounding off the domestic season, and watching lower league teams fight to try to get to a replay has always been enthralling to me. As well as that it gives a small amount of balance to the luck of the draw, being able to hold on and flip the home advantage. (Not to mention these have also applied to me when I’ve done Football Manager LLM challenges )

We’re tighter on FFP than we are on cash, or at least the owner is. Stadium improvements don’t affect FFP.
-
Four more performances like that and we’ve got an excellent chance of going up automatically.
-
Sublime performance so far. Albeit PNE with very little to play for and are playing like they have very little to play for. A few more to make up goal difference on Ipswich would give us another route into the top two, with only one Ipswich draw needed to put it into our own hands.
-
That needs to be part of the pre-match team talk for the rest of the season
-
It’s a little bit closer than that. If we can win all our games, we don’t need a major wobble outside our control now, only one result from Leicester OR Ipswich would be enough.
-
Won the league before they lost a game, could well go on to an invincible season, including in Europe. That’s one way to win a maiden title!

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!
-
Plenty of injury time goals going our way as well this season. Kept our 25 game unbeaten run going.
-
Might just be worth keeping more than half an eye on the automatics again. Need to do our bit now.
-
It’s sport. If you don’t enjoy things that go well because things might not go well later, you never enjoy it at all.
-
Still worth keeping half an eye on the automatic places after that. Still massively unlikely, but certainly feels Leicester at least are still catchable.
-
Ipswich drop points again. 10 points the difference with us having two games in hand, still a huge ask, but autos don’t look absolutely insurmountable again after the midweek results.
-
Indeed. Our season has been one of the best in the history of the Championship. Unfortunately so have three other teams’ seasons.
-
Gerrin! Aribo excellent tonight, always satisfying to get a win against a ref that terrible.
-
Yet another missed opportunity to cling on to the edge of the autos race with the other results today.
-
We needed a win to realistically stay in the autos race, and a loss isn’t going to knock us out of the playoffs.
-
How the utter **** that was a sending off escapes me. After their worthless Neanderthals have been kicking us off the pitch all game? **** off.
-
Bloody good game of football to watch this. Their goal against the run of play was just an excellent strike. Our response has been even better.

https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/chris-nicholl-1946-2024 It’s not been complete radio silence from the club. That said, does seem a bit odd that they’ve not acknowledged it all on a match day. I know they usually use the match closest to All Saints day to pay respects, but they must have known about the fans organising something today.
-
Indeed, their better goal differences are basically worth half a point.
-
Not a terrible set of results in the end. Bit of a missed opportunity but keeps us in it.

Is that the same way that Leicester were completely clear and not worth thinking about a few weeks ago?
