  1. Revista de la Liga is repeated at 11pm tonight if you - like me - missed it earlier.
  2. As ben05 suggests, the majority of cheap fares have probably already gone. The cheapest route will almost certainly be via London, and you might find it also involves going to Manchester first and then coming back down to Wigan. I've just had a look and you can get a single to Manchester from Euston at 09.20 for £26, and the 20.15 from Wigan direct back to Euston is also £26 single. You then get an off-peak day single from Manchester to Wigan on the day for about £4, so it's not as horrendous as I thought it might be by now.
  3. I'd argue there's a fundamental difference between loyalty and being a blind follower.
  4. £22.39 per game (23 games @ £515) to £32.89 per game (19 games @ £625) is in fact a 46.9% increase on a per-game basis.
  5. m40/m6
  6. I don't think anybody has forgotten his achievements. He still remains the only manager to have won us a major trophy, that status won't change for some time. However, many of his opinions are massively outdated and as a result are largely irrelevant, IMO.
  7. Surely an "uberfan mentality" would be one where the club is supported and defended even in the face of indefensible actions and evidence?
  8. A dinosaur of the modern game... interviewing Lawrie McMenemy Let's face it, we know exactly what's going to be said and how it's going to be said before the broadcast has even begun
  9. Saintslist is still going?!
  10. Another "Cortese saved this football club therefore he can do whatever the **** he likes" missive. Joy.
  11. Nope. Three years ago is the closest, but Stoke in 11th got 47 points. Number of teams earning less than 40 points: 2011-12: 5 2010-11: 3 2009-10: 7 2008-09: 5 2007-08: 6 2006-07: 5 2005-06: 4 2004-05: 5 2003-04: 4 (Everton were the 4th team, incredibly ) 2002-03: 2 2001-02: 3 2000-01: 3 1999-00: 5 1998-99: 3 1997-98: 2 1996-97: 2 1995-96: 5 Before that, the PL was a 22-team league.
  12. I'm inclined to agree with this. We played the same way through the majority of those first 10 games, with disastrous results, and then after the West Brom game Adkins felt he was free to tailor the tactics to suit the opposition's particular strengths or weaknesses and we started picking up results. Some of the tactical observations in that article are, quite frankly, nonsense. Ramirez's move to the left flank has been solely as a result of Adam Lallana's injury - suggesting it was some sort of brain-fart on Adkins' part is bizarre.
  13. In terms of pure numbers, sure, the matchday revenue is a much smaller share of the club's total income now, but the £15-20m we'll bring in this season through the turnstiles is still highly significant for a club of our size.
  14. Parody accounts are supposed to be a) funny, and b) in a style that resembles the target. This is neither.
  15. That many?
  16. Whatever protest materialises at whatever time, please let's hope this idea doesn't take off: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/10172160.Saints_fans_plan_Adkins_protest/
  17. Hardly surprising, he might actually have to answer some questions.
  18. We went six games without scoring a goal, let alone winning a game.
  19. Ultimately, we'd be able to sing Nigel Adkins' name for the whole 90 minutes without too many issues - the manager's not going to ****ing understand, is he?
