Ticket office response about those empty seats: "The section you speak of was sold, therefore people who sit there did not come to the game." A block of 50 seats were all sold and it just so happened that NONE of them turned up for the game?? Really??

I'm steveIOW... managed to con my way to a moderator role

The PA announcer said after the game yesterday that tickets for the Sheffield Wednesday game were on sale immediately after the game, but neglected to say how much they were. They don't seem to be available on the website, nor is there any information about the pricing. Utter shambles.

It was all a bit "Internet: Serious Business", really. I made some comments about how that "Pompey Virtual Alliance" they formed a few years ago before they got the idea of a Trust up and running was basically just a clique of their most prominent internet warriors to have meetings with the various owners, administrators, creditors, etc and feel as though they were important, and that they didn't once criticise any of them for clearly feeding them a pack of lies which they then reported back to the masses as fact because they didn't want to throw away those "privileges". He didn't like it. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, to be honest. It's his site, he can do as he pleases with his 100-odd active users.

I don't possess all of those traits

Probably because the ticket office has set a new level of shambles for their work so far this season
-
I can understand the front row possibly being unused but unavailable for ordinary fans as these are often used for disabled fans, I'm not sure if there's a rule on how many disabled seats they have to have available for any particular game. That obviously doesn't apply to any seats further back in the stand.

Thread title amended for accuracy Here's a photo I took just before kick-off yesterday: As you can see, there are two patches of empty seats. The ones towards the back of the stand are within the corporate seating area, so this is presumably covered by the issues raised by SaintBobby. However, the seats at the bottom of the stand are not within the corporate area, so questions should be asked of the club as to why these seats have been empty for both the Wigan and Man United games, despite block 5 showing as completely sold out on the online ticketing system.

This. Very much this.

No idea if they've even recruited the latest replacement, they've gone through three (that I know of) in the two years since Luker left

That Joe Michalczuk is hilarious. A "journalist" (in showbiz, hilariously, yet seems to think he's qualified to comment on football) with such a thin grasp on reality. It seems to run in the veins down there...

Have we all read this? http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/portsmouth/fb_news.php?storyid=18018&title=hall_right_now:_youve_got_to_laugh_as_portpin_go_on_the_offensive... It appears the irony remains completely lost

One rather amusing snippet that's been on Twitter today, Andrew Strauss took three first-class wickets. Guess who his first was...
-
There or thereabouts. Certainly we lost the first 5 - the only team to stay up having done so Edit: just checked, 1 point from the first 8 (1-1 draw at home v Spurs), 2 from the first 9 (1-1 draw at Arsenal), then beat Coventry in the 10th game 2-1.

You were warned that would happen, tbf

So that's three England captains Graeme Smith has seen off now, Hussain, Vaughan and Strauss

The rule is the lower of 10% of capacity or 3,000.

No idea who Peter Gilbert is but if they're trying to sign Delroy Facey then, frankly, I say let them carry on... he wasn't even good at that level 10 years ago

Anyone who believes any of those "Agent" or "ITK" Twitter feeds needs sectioning

But they were able to copy across customer details and season ticket details so - in theory - there's no reason why they couldn't do the same with match tickets.

It's the sort of system that should have been put in place years ago, really. It'll be interesting to see what happens next season, do points from this season carry forward so those who go to most games this season get first dibs early next season, or do they go for the nuclear option of resetting everyone to zero again?
-
Darren Purse. No big deal that we missed out there From memory, while Spurs came in with a joint bid for the two, we were only ever interested in Reid and had a £4m bid accepted. However, he told us in no uncertain terms that he wasn't interested, mainly due to our rather one-dimensional approach in our relegation season where everything was launched to Crouch in the hope that someone would do something with the knockdowns.

And it does, hence the initial requirement for 45 loyalty points in the first sales period (dodgy online system allowing non-eligible people to buy notwithstanding). If non-ST holders end up buying match tickets for the vast majority of home games as well as attending a number of away games, they'll have deservedly moved up the ladder in terms of eligibility for the most popular away games, IMO. As you rightly say, it's unfortunate that perhaps THE most anticipated away game this season has come so early in the season meaning you only had to buy a ticket for three games (one if you're a ST holder) in order to guarantee an Arsenal ticket. If this game had been in March, with 10+ away games already behind us, there would be absolutely no argument over who is more deserving of a ticket. Personally, I'd have liked all of last season's ticket sales to have counted towards a loyalty system this season (gradually losing their weighting over the course of the season as this season's sales take greater importance), but appreciate that would have been a fairly substantial task to administer, especially with the changeover in ticket system.

Nope, no way of the club tracking purchases because all sales were done through Stevenage's ticket office.
-
The best bit is they've put that internal wall up so you can no longer see how many of the ticket office staff are just sat around in the office doing nothing
