I'm going tonight solely because I was offered a free ticket by a mate. The joy of the englandfans members club claiming that they will cross-reference members' tickets bought with the barcode scanners at the turnstiles, meaning the ticket has to be used even if the member decides he can't be arsed to go

Unfortunately not, I'd already earmarked Donny as one I wasn't going to do, so I've got a dental appointment that morning
-
Just seen that the Sutton v Notts County game is also on the Sunday, but is a 5pm kick-off... I might be able to make both games.
-
Schneiderlin didn't cost anywhere near £1m. £250k tops.
-
It did for the Barnsley game at the start of the season, when they also told SFC they wouldn't issue duplicates. Shambles.
-
Collection only Big deal if Donny won't print duplicates, send them by recorded delivery, only costs about 70p more, FFS

South Africa win by 8 wickets, very comfortable in the end. Makes you wonder what the bloody hell both sides were doing yesterday

What a ridiculous day's cricket Australia bowled out for 47, South Africa going well on 81/1, although Mike Hussey dropped Hashim Amla off the last ball of the day. South Africa are massive favourites now, needing 155 to win. 1/5 the longest odds available on them to win, Australia 4/1. For those wanting to do a three-day rain dance, bet365 are offering 750/1 on the draw

I notice that the meathead himself isn't wearing a poppy...

Taking a completely wild guess, I'd suppose that he realised that publicising the Echo's "anonymous" season ticket purchase might compromise the whole thing and probably make the situation even worse, were that possible.

Richard Fry was the account manager at Barclays who subsequently joined Begbies Traynor. Mark Fry - no relation, apparently - was the administrator at Begbies Traynor appointed to the SLH administration.
-
Unlikely, as it would be nigh-on impossible to prove.

Proof that we don't need to fill SMS to expand...

There is a significant difference between moving from an old run-down ground into a brand new state-of-the-art arena and expanding an existing venue, as you well know. Sunderland may have had 10k STHs at Roker Park, but we had fewer than that at The Dell because of its small capacity. Are you suggesting it was foolish for us to move to St Mary's? -
Expect I'll be going to either Wimbledon v Scúnthorpe or Sutton United v Kettering in the FA Cup.
-
The Pompey OS says turnstiles open at 11.30am, so I'll be very surprised if any away coaches turn up before then.
-
Not entirely sure what's happened there - I'm using Chrome and it's working fine for me. The first thing I'd suggest is to try changing the editor settings in your user profile (General Settings section, right at the bottom, first option under Miscellaneous Options). The one I use is "Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls". Give that a go.

In theory, if there's a problem with the Saints OS, there'll be similar problems with all the other sites on the Football League Interactive network.

I reckon we should be able to come up with something for de Ridder to the same tune as Man City's Balotelli song: [video=youtube;i-tagn3lB3I] Ooooh, Steve de Ridder, he's a winger, he's ****ing fast...

I was quite surprised the ref produced the second yellow so early in the game, more often than not a challenge like Frecklington's second foul would get a final warning and then the player would spend the rest of the game pulling out of tackles so as not to get himself sent off. In that sense, he was a bit unfortunate, although I don't think there would be any argument about either of the bookings when taken in isolation. Speaking of the ref, was it just me who noticed that in the first half, Schneiderlin was fouled in the centre circle, fell on the ball, the ref seemed to indicate a free-kick to Peterborough for handball, then let Schneiderlin take a quick free kick and then gave the "advantage" signal?

From what I remember (given that it was 6 years ago), the excuse given at the time was that they wanted to time our arrival so we got in the ground as close to kick-off as possible. Having ****ed it up ridiculously in 2004 when most of us travelling by train didn't get in the ground until half an hour into the game, they made it slightly better in 2005 by making sure we only missed the first ten minutes.

Sadly my pockets aren't particularly deep and I don't qualify for legal aid, otherwise I'd be all over it like a rash.
-
Perhaps the police shouldn't have held the train at Southampton Central for nearly an hour then?
-
Always the way. Unfortunately they assume (correctly) that, while Joe Public may well be law-abiding, he won't know the full detail of the law regarding freedom of movement and what restrictions the police are allowed to impose on people. As a result, the copper is safe in the knowledge that he can threaten someone with arrest and chances are that member of the public will simply do as he's told, rather than question the likelihood that the copper is actually abusing his powers.

Quoting this article, a report on a recent Football Supporters Federation meeting in Portsmouth: I'm willing to wager that the moment "bubbling" is challenged through the courts, it'll cease to be a viable option for the police.

Really? I was under the impression that their duty is to prevent ALL forms of disorder and illegal behaviour, not to pick and choose when it suits them.
