  1. OK, squad list as far as I can tell, comprising those who gave me positions. Real names where known, much easier for me to do it that way. GK: Scott Barnard DF: Andy Porter, Darren Cave, Scott Phillips, Adam Moore, Kev Thornton, bowers-sfc, Carl Noyce MF: Chris Knight, Stu Holloway, Ben Coombes, Ash Drouet, Pete Stephens ST: Steve Grant, Scott Griffin, Brad Smirk, Barrie Jarman This squad is not closed, so if anybody else wants to be added, please let me know. That includes those who have identified themselves on this thread without telling me where you play. Kick-off will be 10.30am at Fleming Park Leisure Centre in Eastleigh, please be there by 10am at the latest. For those who don't know the venue, the football changing rooms are in the old hut-like building to the left-hand side of the main leisure centre building, opposite the tennis courts. You will need shin pads and boots, probably worth bringing some white socks as well if you've got some, not entirely sure I've got enough of those in the kitbag. It would be helpful if everyone could PM me a contact email (if your email gets sent to your phone) or mobile number so I can keep you informed if there are any problems on the day etc. I can then also give you my details so you can let me know if you're running late, etc. If you can't PM, my Hotmail address is on my profile.
  2. To be fair, he's probably right, and I expect myself and a few of the team regulars have heard about every single one at some point over the years
  3. Usually when considering information, you should pay attention to the credibility (or otherwise) of the source, but it shouldn't necessarily be the only criteria you look at when deciding whether something is accurate or not. Unfortunately, with things like this, people look at the source and immediately say "well that's clearly ********". On the flipside, there are many people who see something posted on the OS and immediately take it as gospel even though there may be holes the size of a London bus in the statement(s). The biggest disappointment for me is that so many people are either unable or unwilling to believe that a situation might not be black or white, but a fuzzy shade of grey.
  4. If you think I'm going to trawl through any of your 12,476 posts, you're very much mistaken Also, all reported thread notifications get deleted as soon as I've read them.
  5. As Dig Dig rightly points out, you're in no position to take the moral high ground
  6. Not that I'm aware of.
  7. The Ex-Saints website lists 45 players among its members. Of those 45 players, I can see only one who has had anything public to say about Cortese (Le Tissier), and one other who is well-known to have had a significant falling-out with Cortese but to my knowledge hasn't said anything publicly about it (Benali). With a ratio like that, do you really think it's fair to attribute a collective anti-Cortese viewpoint on the group? Le Tiss can fight his own battles - to my knowledge, he's never made any comments in the name of the Ex-Saints. Er, no Spot on. Regarding the actual allegations, are they actually that bad? So the club wouldn't give them free advertising in the programme? Big deal... chances are they'd already sold all the available spaces - most are sold for the whole season, I believe. Regarding the letter, I'd be inclined to accept that that might have happened, I know that various organisations who have previously had permission to use the club crest have since had that permission revoked in the last 18 months or so, for whatever reason, so it's possible that they've decided to clamp down on the use of the nickname as well. I don't think so. I'm not going to lock a thread just because the opinion expressed hasn't received much support, that rather renders the idea of a forum obsolete.
  8. It'll be grass. Should have confirmed details this evening, so will post a full squad list then.
  9. How have they come to the conclusion that there are 4 pirated copies for every legitimate one? Surely if they know where the pirated ones are originating from and who is downloading them, they can pursue those people, rather than inflicting ridiculous restrictions on those who do pay for the game?
  10. Which, like pretty much every other documentary on the subject, will probably say very little because the lawyers will make sure anything interesting is left on the cutting room floor.
  11. FM runs slowly enough at the best of times, without forcing people to run more software in the background. If I'm buying a game that is predominantly for offline use, I don't expect to have to register with a third party - completely unrelated to the game itself - in order to run the damn thing. Rather than pleading poverty (which is nonsense, in the year to March 2010, SI made a profit of more than £2m, which is nearly 30% of its turnover and an increase from £300k), perhaps they should attempt to discover why so many people pirate their games, other than the obvious "I want stuff for free" brigade.
  12. Mustn't grumble, really, it's basically a home game for me
  13. Wolves v Man City Cardiff v Burnley Blackburn v Newcastle Arsenal v Bolton Stoke v Liverpool Aldershot v Man United Crystal Palace v Southampton Everton v Chelsea
  14. That's odd. Next time you try to log in (do you tick the "stay logged in" box?), can you make a note of the URLs before and after the redirection, especially if it's something that isn't www.saintsweb.co.uk/?
  15. Even if you buy the retail box version??
  16. What pages do you get this on?
  17. Can't have made any difference, Hampshire have paid their staging fee for the Sri Lanka test match, albeit a bit later than planned. Glamorgan still owe loads of money.
  18. Could those who I don't know (probably most of those who have posted!) let me know what position(s) they play in and to what sort of standard?
  19. Saturday lunchtime
  20. Appears that particular price isn't available anymore. With the digital download option, there aren't any onerous requirements like having to be online when you fire up the game, or having to be logged into Steam or anything like that, are there? The DVD drive on my Macbook can get pretty loud, so if I can avoid using it that would be a bonus.
  21. Completely unbothered by the moodiness, it's another ground to tick off
  22. Aldershot or Arsenal away, or if I'm being uber-selfish/lazy, Palace away.
  23. The best thing about me not being at a game means I can update the prediction league straight after the final whistle
  24. Cramp, apparently.
  25. That'll do. Aldershot, Arsenal or Palace away please
