  1. Not at all, he's wrong on many occasions. He just refuses to believe it. Admirable in many ways that someone could be so deluded, to be honest.
  2. Easter Saturday, Easter Monday.
  3. Another drop That's five now...
  4. No, in September play is brought forward by half an hour because of the earlier deterioration of light, so the scheduled start time was 10.30 with lunch at 12.30. As it turned out, we started at 11 because of all the overnight rain.
  5. ****ing hell, three dropped catches already this morning
  6. Now, having done my best Martyn Tyler impression, I'm delighted to announce that we are now running on the brand new super-duper server. You should see that pages are noticeably quicker to load now, and, most importantly, during peak periods as well (touch wood). Subtle configuration changes might be needed over the next few weeks, so I'd ask you to bear with us if those are needed - the system administrator fella at work knows what he's doing so I'll leave it all in his capable hands If you spot any problems, please let me know. One thing I've thought of... if you access the site at http://saintsweb.co.uk rather than http://www.saintsweb.co.uk, you might find a few problems for the time being as I've not moved *everything* across yet (emails, etc), so I need to leave the base domain name on the old server until I've moved those across as well (hopefully some time this week).
  7. Mitchell really is the gift that keeps on giving
  8. 381 all out in the end, a deficit of just 7 runs. A decent effort in the end, and just think, if we'd taken the chances we had when Chapple was in, we'd probably have a decent lead now.
  9. Realistically, I don't think a win's going to be possible at this stage, unless we can get 100 in front and then bowl them out cheaply second time around. I'd take a draw from this one with plenty of bonus points, with Sussex beating Worcestershire. Then we'd be around 13-15 points behind them going into the last game. If we then beat Warwickshire and they lose to Durham, as long as we at least match them on bonus points, we stay up
  10. Don't know what their parts storage/availability is likely to be after today's news: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-14839649
  11. There is a mobile app that we're looking at, but it's going to require a fair amount of time to set up. I don't really want to put any time estimates on it as I'm really not 100% sure about what's involved there yet. Wiki is on the "would like but not vital" pile at the moment, I'm afraid.
  12. Looks like smileys have been fixed. No idea what was going on there!
  13. Yes
  14. No, as only I know the password to access the database. You don't. They are simply our suppliers. There are three different edit boxes available on the forum, which you can change within your user settings (click Settings at the top of the screen, then under "My Account", select "General Settings") - right at the bottom of the page, under "Miscellaneous Options", there are options for "Enhanced Interface", "Basic Editor" and "Standard Editor". Try using the basic editor as that's most likely to be compatible across all mobile browsers. We've always had them turned off because they're an extra drain on resources (displaying them requires an additional query to the database for each post). Once we've migrated to the new server, we might look at turning them on, although I'm slightly reluctant to do so because a) it's an extra thing that we have to keep an eye on, as some people will abuse it, and b) they have the potential to take up a lot of screen space when most people would rather just read the thread. At the moment, if the link was to a thread on the main board then yes, they would need to be logged in to read it. However, the power of the new server should allow us to open read-only access to people who aren't logged in as well. I won't be switching all the bells and whistles on immediately when we migrate, as I want to double-check everything is running smoothly, but gradually I should be able to switch on various bits and pieces.
  15. Yes, no plans to change that for the forseeable future.
  16. This evening, I've upgraded the forum software from version 4.0.7 to 4.1.5, so that's quite a few versions we've jumped, hence the near two-hour period of downtime. You will probably notice a few minor changes, the first is the edit box when you create a new thread or reply to a post. I'm not sure I like it yet, but I guess it'll grow. If anyone has any problems with it (in terms of any technical faults, not whether it looks pretty), please let me know. I think we now have Facebook integration on threads as well, so you can "Like" threads, which will then post onto your Facebook news feed. Entirely up to you whether you decide to use this feature or not. There will be another period of downtime, probably on Sunday, perhaps early next week, when we (finally) move over to a new server. This WILL be the last server move we make. As I have mentioned a few times recently, I've made a deal with my boss at work to put a new server into the company's data farm and utilise their resources for ourselves. This will see a massive improvement in performance and reliability. Any questions?
  17. They've basically carried on their form from last season into this season then, not losing any games but not winning enough to challenge at the top for a prolonged period.
  18. It's only really England and Germany where you get big away support. In Spain in particular, there's hardly ever away fans at games, although I suspect a lot of that is because the league are really **** at the basic organisational things such as letting people know what day and time the games are kicking off. If you think it's annoying having 2 months' notice that a game's been moved to the Saturday evening, try not knowing whether your game will take place Saturday night, Sunday afternoon, Sunday night or Monday night until 10 days before the game.
  19. Never stopped them before. I can remember countless occasions of big groups of Saints fans being rounded up at Waterloo station and dumped in the Hole in the Wall for the afternoon and then escorted across London to whichever ground we're playing at.
  20. As much of an idiot as Eddie Mitchell is, the £1.4m in the bank is utterly unheard of for Bournemouth. Financially, they'll do alright as long as they can keep a side that's moderately competitive together. When the loan window opens next week, I'd expect a host of young players from Premier League clubs to flood in, which will probably be enough to keep them in mid-table this season.
  21. I suggest you re-read the OP... not once did he ask for questions.
  22. Indeed. Why would they tell a handful of fans sensitive information, even with some sort of NDA (which would be pretty much unenforceable in this situation - what are they likely to do?), when they know damn well the first thing they'll do when they get home is tell a load of their mates what was said?
  23. The best thing about it is that it was clearly accidental as well The Wingate midfielder tried to control the ball high in the air, but a Tooting player got there first and his studs went into the Tooting player's chest. You could see that he just didn't see the guy coming, so it wasn't intentional, but it looked horrendous, so doubt there can be any arguments about the red card.
  24. I went to Tooting & Mitcham United v Wingate & Finchley in the Ryman Premier League, free to get in with any Premier League or Football League season ticket. Entertaining 1-1 draw, and a hilarious sending-off in injury time for a chest-high studs-up assault
  25. Condition now updated to "stable", so seems like he's made good progress throughout the course of the day. Good news.
