One you missed: Really?? Seems an odd excuse to give for plain slow service. Hire people who can count change for a start...
-
No, missed out by 5 runs. Suspect if Carberry hadn't got out in the first over after tea we'd have probably made it, but with a new man at the crease it was always going to be tougher. Still, the 16 points available for the win are much more attractive than the one additional batting bonus point, and we've almost certainly batted them out of a win they really need.

To be fair to their fans, of the 11 who started the playoff semi-final against Huddersfield in May, 7 have been sold and one today announced his retirement due to injury. If that had happened to us after our most successful season in 30-odd years, with no sign of the money being reinvested in suitable (or indeed any) replacements, I think we'd be a bit ****ed off as well

Why does it always take us until August to remember how to play 4-day cricket?

Missed the deadline by 2 minutes, according to a local paper: http://bit.ly/qnMt6A

Shock horror, server that is being replaced soon (hopefully this/next week - timing out of my control) struggles with more than 750 people constantly loading pages and pressing F5. I do get rather tired of the same old faces (who don't contribute themselves and never have done) complaining and saying "everyone demand their money back!! mash mash mash" - you know who you are. No problem facing questions/criticism from those who have actually contributed.

And now the lunch break for them to regroup Difficult to get too excited until we've had a bat on that wicket, really. It's only their batting that's been depleted by injuries and England call-ups, not their bowling.
-
This is where we really need to turn the screw and run through their tail - usually what happens is they scrape to 250 all out from here...

In those situations, as a striker, I'd always prefer to score the open goal than take a relative chance with a penalty. The ref might not always give it, for a start. I guess the match situation might come into it as well - if it had been the 10th minute, a red card for the keeper is much more beneficial than in the 92nd minute when the team's already got the lead.

None of them are spinners, therefore the wicket must be perfectly acceptable

I think a lot of the stick he gets is unwarranted, but at the same time I would still like to see us sign another centre-back (preferably one with pace as well as a bit of muscle, as that's where we were caught out at Leicester). If that new signing is currently a better player than Seaborne, he gets in the team ahead of him. Seaborne will get his chance with injuries, suspensions, sensible squad rotation, etc. He's still young, so has plenty of time to improve and gain experience.

Lallana's captain tonight.

I now have the Samsung Galaxy S2, which is the dog's ********. Got bored of my Blackberry in the end.

Tomorrow's game at Taunton should be quite interesting, I'd almost give us a chance now that Trescothick's out injured.

Katich would be a massive coup for us, particularly in the second division. Utterly baffling decision by Cricket Australia to not renew his central contract I reckon Cork will have one more year back at his home county of Derbyshire. Their CEO was quoted a few months back saying they were looking for a marquee signing for next year (they held discussions with Paul Collingwood before he signed a new deal at Durham), so wouldn't surprise me to see Cork as that signing.

Not true. When he arrived at the club, it was a knee injury that kept him out for the first 4-6 weeks, but that cleared up as expected. It was his back, in what I believe was a completely separate problem (although it's not unheard-of for a leg injury to cause future problems with the back), which caused him to miss most of the next 2 years or so.

It was peacey. The club used to use Nightingale Surgery in Romsey, where Drs Peace and Warner were the club's doctors on a part-time basis. I'm led to believe this partnership ended a year or so ago as the club wanted to employ a doctor full-time, and the money involved was nowhere near what a GP would earn as a practice partner (as both those doctors are). No idea whether SFC actually managed to recruit someone into that role full-time or not.

Yeah, we won't be having your political propaganda nonsense on this board, cheers.

The Bristol City v Swindon game in the first round was postponed due to the looting ****s in Bristol. That game is being played on Tuesday, and we travel to the winners. Not 100% sure when that game will be arranged for, though. It's a two-week international break immediately after the Leicester game.

I think you can get 1 and 2 in HD on Virgin (and possibly BT Vision), but not the others.

For whoever it was that found that CCJ at Northampton County Court, did the listing show who had made the claim against the club? On a slightly more general note, is it possible to find a list of CCJs dished out by a court on a particular day?

That'll be 400/7 then

Troughton gone second ball of the morning, 96/5

Without knowing what their setup is, I've no idea, to be honest.
